Elite Aerosports Havoc servo choice

I've narrowed my Havoc servo choice down to Spektrum A6300 or MKS HV777A+ and would like opinions from those who have actually been using them.
I am not that familiar with MKS and their reliability or service if needed. I am leaning towards Spektrum A6300 due to everything else I have is Spektrum or JR. Plus Horizon Hobby is relatively close to me if I ever need service and I always see their reps at the few meets I attend.

Main concerns are gear drive play over time or other issues with either servo?

I have a havoc with mks777,it's a great combo. 2 other jets with them,no problems.

IMO the MKS 777A+ is the best value in high performance servos on the market today. I'm going to be running them in my DerJet F-35A.. I have 12 of them going into my 40% Extra 300S.. If you're really feeling spendy, you can go with the Brushless MKS HBL-380s..

Can't go wrong with MKS and they are 20% off for Black Friday

Cost is not the issue and right now almost every retailer has sales going on. I'm still leaning towards the Spektrum A6300 as it is brushless and currently sale priced about $20 more the MKS HV777A+. So can anyone comment on the A6300 ?

Both the 777 and 6300 are installed and successful in many Havocs out there so you are good.

As an MKS rep, of course I prefer the 777/777A+. The 777A+ is smaller, lighter and stronger than the 777. they are Coreless and very strong and fast drive train.
Support is handled by the seller, OR by MKS-USA depending on the issue. If you haven't used them before, they take any Futuba splined arm.
I haven't noticed any wear on several I have installed,

They are on sale this weekend at AeroPanda.com

I have 7 6300s in my T1 And they are great. Very quiet and accurate. The soft start is awesome!

Tailwinds,

John

That is serious overkill for a T-1...

Well thanks for the input - I know the MKS is a fine servo but I ended up getting the Spektrum A6300.

Where did you buy the 6300's ? The are on "Back-Order" till mid-October at Horizon. I know they were released but I have heard they have had issues with them, Hence the " Backorder " ... I do not know if the ones already out have been recalled or not, perhaps someone in the know could help us with this... I talked to Horizon a while back and I was frustrated because the pulled the same crap when they came out with the new T-series Power-Safe receivers.. The stopped production/sales of the old power-safe RX's and introduced the new ones and then recalled them... I have been using the Spektrum 6250 servo's and was planning to go 6300's on this next project and BAM !!! 6250's discontinued and 6300's not available with problems.... You think the would figure out not to discontinue the existing product until the replacement is proven and available... Somebody has to know what's going on... Please share.

Dan, you're asking where I bought A6300's back in Nov 2017 - it has no relevance to the current bulletin. If you check Horizon's site under the A6300 product description there is an "Important Bulletin" link that clearly states servos bought AFTER May 1, 2018 with PID number SH804N may fail when used in conjunction with some receivers. Servos with a different PID number are not affected.

Hope that helps...Scott

Thanks Scott !!! I didn't realize this was an older thread when I made my post... But now I know more than I did !!! Thanks again !!!

Cheers,

Dan

6250's are being replaced with our new A6310 and A6320 brushless line, same great features as the A6300 with slightly less torque. These are available for purchase!
