Hello To All!!
I am new and looking for info on an old Canadian made kit. I have just acquired a Bob Parkinson Balsa "Pusher Prop" F-18 Kit. This is a .60 sized plane 64" Long and a 51" WS w/ Foam wing cores and Bob's "Jetskin" wing covering / sheet vinyl . This is a "factory" made "Pusher". I assume it was made as a proof of concept for the Blue Hornet / Fiberglass Fuse? I am not sure if this was first then the Blue Hornet then the Regal Eagle, Barracuda, Cheetah? There was a video made by Bob showing how to build this and then how to as showing him flying this F-18 model!!! I am looking for any and all info on the kit. Year Made? Scale? Plans? Pictures? Build Log? Kit box top Picture? Pictures of the kit? Bob's Video of building it and flying it? YES THER WAS ONE!!!!! What every you have or know PLEASE!!!!!!!! Thank You!!!! Are you sure its a pusher and not a ducted fan plane? I did not know BP made a pusher F18 but I had one of his DF F18. It was balsa also and was a good flying plane.

Hi Guys!!!!
Thank you for your replies!! Yes it is a PUSHER PROP!! It was NEVER a DF Please see new post as I loaded 9 pictures to include the direction which clear show it is and was designed as a PUSHER. Now not sure if this was the prototype for his Blue Hornet which my research say it was a Fiber Fuse? I know that Mike Pastro's .40 & .60 PUSHER from RCM was the proto for G& P's Fiber fuse PUSHER. Maybe the new post w/ pics will help? Thank You!!!!!!!!!! |
That was one of the few things Parkinson ever did that worked.
|
My recommendation is to build your Parkinson kit, then light it on fire. Guarantee much more enjoyment!

Hi Andy!!!
Thank you for the reply!! Well that was a positive response! I remember these kits adverts back in early 80's There seems to be a whole lot of people upset with the guy after his wife died and he seemed lost. I understand that they were a tag team and that the loss was very hard more ways and one. Bob died in Feb 2016. If you have not lost a spouse you should not throw stones. But that is for all of the haters! Anyhow I hope you can shed some light on this PLEASE for me? Did you build one and fly it? Any info you can remember that I was looking for? PLEASE any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!! Jeff |
Hello!!
So did you have any experience with this PUSHER PROP kit or was yours a DF? Early DF were a mess!!! Thank You!!!! Jeff |

I never had any bad dealings with Bob, but several of my friends did...long before his wife passed.
I never saw anyone with the pusher prop F-18. A friend had the DF F-18 and it flew good. It was a wood and foam kit. No fiberglass fuse. I built 4 of the Regal Eagles. 2 with Byron fans and 2 with Dynamax fans. They all flew good. |

Hi Gary!!!!!!
AH!!! So there were both a F-15 Regal Eagle DF and a Pusher and a F-18 Blue Hornet DF and a Pusher!!! I see the year 1989 on his instruction. Mine has no date and is laid out differently. Also I have White Foam wings. Mine must have been what he called a Supreme Kit as I have "Jetskin" and a little more hardware, Prop, , reg stuff ( horns, hinges, etc) 2 gas tanks big and small and wheels. I have no decals. On the Jetskin instructions it states right at the top "OPTIONAL - Not included in all kits" Your F-15's look really good! I understand the time line of what kits were like in the day. Roughly what year was your first F-15? Any paper work left over? I remember the ads and that would have been in the mid 80's. Cool well that helped a lot!! I was able to see the drawings some what. I can build it with what I have no problem but was looking for the "details" The Video would be just the cat's rear end!!! Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff |
I built my first one in '88 or '89. I don't think I have any of the documentation for any of them. I built the last one in '99 or 2000.
I look around for any documentation. As I recall, you did not get much with the kit. |
I also bought a used one a few years ago.
Converted it to edf. Flies ok. https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...n#post26202030 My plastic parts are redone in fiber glas in the original parts..... regards Martin |
Hi Gary!!!!
Thanks for the reply!!!!!! I forgot to mention how cool the PUSHER prop post was!! I thought I had seen all of the posts here. Too many pages and so much not related!! LOL But it answered and confirmed what I thought reading the directions. Now to get those details on how the inside was set up and C/G etc. are the last pcs. Thank You!!!!!! Jeff |
Hi Martin!!!
Thanks for your reply! I saw it early on in my search but was not sure if it was it or not. So yours was a fiberglass fuse or did you just glass it? I was unaware of a fiber fuse by Bob? But Neat!!!! Thank You!!! Jeff |
No, wood fuse with glas parts instead of the plastic...
regards Martin |
Hi Gary!!!!
How are you? Good I hope? Hey did you have any spare time to look for any old plans you might have? Thank You for your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff |

Hi Gary!!!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess that end the trail for plans? Thank You so much for your time and effort!!!!!!!! Jeff |
Didn't Bob Parkinson's daughter post on here once? Maybe you could find that old thread and track her down from there. If anyone would have old instructions or plans it would be his family.
|
Yes she did post re Bob's passing . I believe it was less than two years ago .
( updated ) found it , she posted as Parkinson S on 7/2/17 . Perhaps she'll respond to a PM |
Hello!!!
Thank you for that info!! I missed it as I just did not want to read all of that old crap!!! During my research over the last week on here and R/C Groups and R/C Canada I have learned that Bob and his wife were a tag team! She was the business, even heating the sheet plastic to be vac-u-formed in her oven!! What I also learned was that she died of Colon Cancer!!! My wife's Husband Robert died of the same and it was not a very fun 5 years process!!!!!! So I fully understand why he was just not with it @ approx. 68 yrs. old!!! I am 66 and if I had been married all those years and my wife died a slow and agonizing death I would not be that interested in the rest of the world!!!! It took Pam several years and "talking" to pros to get her head straight again and she did not have a Co. to try and run!! So again thanks for the info!! I have sent her a PM to express my belated sympathy and understanding about her father and all of the nasty comments!! Thank You!!!!!! Jeff |
