65th Aggressor Squadron

Hello,

Anyone know why some of these F-15s look to have a rear seat (WSO)? Figured most aggressor schemes were F-15Cs, and figured all F-15Cs were front seat only.

lmk - thanks.

some great photos you have shown here skunkwurk, congrats for sharing one of my favourite jets

The Aggressor squadrons also have F-15Ds. They are not WSO platforms, that is the F15E. It is nothing more than a repeater of the front cockpit back there, think more of a Pilot Training cockpit. I have a few flights in the Actual Desert Camo version F-15D when I did some testing work and some guest flights during Red Flags (when I was active duty). If I can find the pictures I have I'll post them (from outside the plane, not inside)

That is exactly what I was trying to determine, thank you. Have you seen any of these F15Ds in the splinter scheme? I pasted a link below of the scheme I'm referring to. I selected this scheme for a 1/7th scale jet. At the time they only made F-15E variants, so I kind of deviated from scale a bit. I'm looking for an image of an F-15 with a rear seat in this scheme, in case I ever want to compete with it.

I just googled "F-15D aggressor" on image search, waiting for my coffee to warm up.

EDIT: SORRY ABOUT THE long URL, I am too busy to shorten it

Thanks. It looks like a rear seat is common in the Desert and Flanker schemes. Didn't see anything in the Splinter scheme though, bummer.

IDK, you might be searching for a ghost, maybe go to one of the plastic modeling sites and ask someone. They know everything AND they actually build and paint their planes, so they know about paints, colors etc.

In my experience, any picture even close will let you participate in the new ARF scale categories, and the old school categories that actually static judge the planes dont allow factory painted ARFs

Good to know, thanks Matt.

I don't know of any splinter scheme D versions. But that doesn't mean there isn't one. I retired about 3yrs ago and I don't deal with the Aggressors much in my new job. That's me in the back seat.....And I had the seat all the way up! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...febb90fa99.jpg

Was your dad in front on take your kid to work day?

HA! I'm just kidding, and insanely jealous. Cool pic, love the 15.

Thanks for sharing.

I have a couple others....unfortunately they are not the "original" pics. They were done into a small poster you could frame. I had to scan the individual pic.

And I found the Dad taking the Kid to work funny! I'm under 6ft so the F-15 felt huge like a Cadillac. My F-16D backseat time it felt like a sportscar where you are hugged by the plane. Both fun to fly!
