A guy from the aero club made the Wizard sticker. The file is from JP Zardini. JP makes stickers in all colors and sizes. Just give him a call.

I got this photo from JP at ZN Line. Looks like mine is ready to ship.
I hope it makes it okay.
I asked him to install servos too. It should not take long to get ready. (If I get an X45 soon)

Congratulations on your Wizards S... I really like mine and it flies very nice... I hope you are not planning to put an X45.. 🤦🏻‍♂️... I have an M100XBL and it’s flies nice .. I have seen M70 fly it as well. I’m planning to change M100XBL to X90 real soon. IMO a 70N is a perfect turbine for this jet..

Mine is ready to paint. I was going to do a sport scheme, but now I think I'm going to do a T-45C scheme.. Love the way it looks in the photo in this thread.

It’s nice to see more of these being built. They are very good jets.

jvaliensi 02-22-2021 05:47 AM

Hi,
JP recommends 45-50N turbine for this airplane. He uses a X45 and said it is the way to go. So, that's what I plan to use. I don't see why it wouldn't be good, the Wizard is similar in size & weight to a Rebel Hot.

Danny. I love mine! Equipped with a REX12A and 900mhz back-up and RCPS10. I have around 200 flights with it.

I agree. This jet was never designed to be a speed demon. I flew the jet with a 50 turbine and it was great. With a K70 I have more then 1:1 power to weight. KEEP IT LIGHT. 😉

Ofcourse. If I power up the Wizard, I will write down the settings

jvaliensi 02-22-2021 12:48 PM

Screen shots of the REX12A set up would be nice and easy to do.
Thanks

Yeah.. I saw one with a P-70 in it at Best in the West in 2018 and it was a missile. I'm putting a K45G2 in mine.

That engine is sold now Doug. Waiting for the Xicoy 90 to turn up which should make it a missile on steroids.. It's a drop in replacement. I'll be bringing it back to BITW this year Covid allowing..

Looks like a little havoc.

Hey Doug.
Have you flown your Wizard yet?
Where do you fly turbines in the San Diego area?

Doug Cronkhite 02-27-2021 11:14 PM

I haven't.. I'm just getting ready to paint it now, and then it's just final installation. Some guys fly down at Chula Vista, but I'm not a fan of that place, especially for turbines. I've flown a lot at Camp Pendleton as well..

jvaliensi 02-28-2021 05:27 AM

I've bought a sticker set for mine. Vinyl graphics. Way easier than painting, which is perfect because I'm lazy. I also asked JP to install the servos. I should have had him send the turbine too. I heard there will not be X45's available until July.

jvaliensi 03-03-2021 06:24 AM

My Wizard made it! It came really quick. Everything was perfect.
I asked JP to install the servos and he sure did a bang-up job. All the control rods are installed and the hardware is top notch. The wiring harness were all Powerbox and made up. I will not have much work to do. But I'm waiting on a turbine for it. It came with Electron gear installed, wings & tail bags, a Grumania pipe and cone and a fuel tank. As F-1 noted, the quality of the construction is outstanding. The wings are as smooth and perfect as any F3F sailplane I've ever seen.
The wings are almost exactly the same size as a Rebel Hot. And the fuselage is about the same length too.

Hello. I promised to make pictures of my gyro settings of the REX12A. As you can see I use inflight gain control for take-off, cruise and landing.

I'm lagging on my Wizard assembly. There is not much to do, so I'm stretching it out. The fuselage feels so light.I weighed it an its a bit over 1.56kg.

I put the wings and stabs on for the 1st time. I still need to finish the fuselage graphics.

Tail pipe mock up. There is a metal nozzle that goes on the end of the fuselage and that is why the pipe sits out so far.

Hi James,

congratulation for this nice plane- i like the Wizard a lot and wanted to ask how long you had to wait after placing the order?

jvaliensi 03-31-2021 11:47 AM

Hi,
I started the process the 1st week of December 20 and it was delivered the last week of February 21.
There was a slight delay for the gear and I kept adding scope. So, your wait may vary.
