Does Airpower still exist?
 

I know Dreamworks and possibly others still sell Airpower stuff, at least some of which is placarded with the www.airpowernet.com URL which is apparently no longer valid. I'm just curious if they company is even still in existence/production or if the parts that are out there are leftover supply and when they're gone, they're gone. Also looking for manuals for some of their products, if those exist.

I have looked around for a source for their stuff in the past and all I have found is what Dreamworks still has in stock. I'm pretty sure they are gone...

Great.... guess I should buy some replacement tires while I still can....

My last project has an Airpower gear set, that forced me to do some research on that company, here is what I found out, they are no longer in bussines, DW is so far the only place in the US where we can get some parts, there is this page showing all kinds if wheels but, I don't know how real that is.

I have an overseas friend investigating where to get replacement tires and parts but that is a shot in the dark.

A bit of info on wheels, the shaft, bearings and brakes for the 2 3/4" are the same for the 3" wheels, you can use them as mains or nose with the solid replacement tires, the 2 3/4" wheel will expand to 3" when inflated, the brakes are very strong at 100 psi so, 50 psi is plenty pressure to slow down or to stop the aircraft, one more thing, DW has the 2 1/2" solid tires, replace the air filled with those, only $9 per set.

That's all I know.

If Dreamworks has them, then YES, you should buy some (or all of them...)

what a drag. I just replaced old glennis wheels with airpower ones....

In my case I have an old Airpower sequencer but no idea how to set it up. I'm also looking at lighting options and I like that Airpower has an all-in-one controller (position/nav, landing, AND afterburner) but no clue how reliable it is and obviously little or no recourse for keeping it serviced/repaired down the line.

Yea, I had to replace the Glennis wheels on my Panther because I couldn't get tires for them anymore. Luckly I went with Intairco - which you can still get - as of now...

Come to think of it, jet wheels and brakes (and especially tires) are the hardest things to source. My son has Airtech wheels and brakes he got from CARF for his Hawk, and now they are gone and you can't get them anymore...

hmmmm maybe mine are intairco now that I think about it. They are solid tires airpower was all inflatable weren't they...

The Airpower ones I had were inflatable - Which in and of itself is a dumb idea for jet tires, IMHO - at least for ones that are not overly large...

Dreamworks has replacement tires for Intairco wheels from 4 1/2" down to 2 1/4" - all solid tires. Measure your hubs and see if they have ones that fit.
