Top RC Retract Controller
Is anyone familiar with the new retract controller from TopRC, it's the one that goes from 7.4 - 11.1v, has a place to also connect gear doors, trying to figure out how it operates.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...a06dbe49be.jpg

same problem here
I have received the same controller with my F-16 with any kind of operating manual. I started with measuring the polarity of the outputs by attaching a simple volt meter; once I got that figured out I hooked it up to a servo tester and the gear was working... haven't played around with the geardoor sequencer. Please share here if you manage to figure out more of how it works
I have posted 2 videos on my youtube channel, as I am not allowed to post url's you'll have to look for the channel of "jorisnys" |
I would seriously consider replacing this with a Xicoy controller...
It is eminently adjustable. Bob |

Watched you video's, hooked up controller, worked fine for 3 cycles, then fried itself and started smoking, same as the old controllers, these guys need to get things figured out, and I know other people who fried multiple controllers also, old and new. |

Xicoy info?
Bob, I’m one of the ones to have had multiple Top RC controllers burn up (old and new) and would love any information on the Xicoy controllers. Are there different controllers based on aircraft size, conpatability with pre installed mains and periphery (tail retract, doors, brakes, etc), U.S. distributor or vendor you use for yours? I mean anything you can offer would be appreciated by me a great deal. |
Jag-rc.com sells the electron controllers https://jag-rc.com/shop?olsPage=products%2Frb-45 https://www.xicoy.com/catalog/index....5f61f472dbf447 |
The Xicoy LGC 15 is functionally the same as Electron's high end controller. It works great. You can buy them set up for your specific gear or you can get a programmable one where you set the limits. The only thing is you have to determine the max voltage and current your gear motors can take and then set the LGC 15 so it does not exceed your gear's capability before it shuts off the gear. For one set of gear, I had to put in a voltage regulator before the controller cause I use 2s LiPo and the gear could not take that voltage. There is no VR in the LGC15. Some of these knock offs do have VRs in them set up for the gear they come with.
The LGC 15 has a gyro. The nose wheel and the brakes are controlled by the gyro. If the plane goes off course or "skids," the nose wheel turns to offset the skid. If the plane turns by itself, the brake on the offending side is released. It also has ABS and is proportional. Best of all, IT HAS INSTRUCTIONS for setting it up. I have three brake controllers that are junk, when compared to the LGC 15. Never could get them to work right and always had the brake dance going on. The LGC 15 cured all the braking issues, including the uneven braking caused by the two disks getting magnetized unevenly. You do have to read the instructions to set it up. But once you do, it is well worth the time it takes to read and set up! |
