Jeti DS-12

Since the Jeti DS-12 comes with new programs and there will be many new Jeti users like me, I think it is best it has its own thread, this way new users like me have a specific thread to come to for help, suggestion and illumination :)

CARS II 07-17-2020 04:30 PM

I'm adding a link to the previous discussion so the good info giving by some of you guys ( thank you ) is not lost in cyberspace.

Not sure I understand, there is nothing that the DS-12 does that any other Jeti TX can do...(granted some required purchases upgrade) but a DS24 can do everything a DS12 can plus some...the some once upgrade work the same way....

I got my Jeti DS-12 a few days ago ( heaven sounds and angels singing here :) ) it looks and feel amazing and what it will be able to do for me ( mind-buggling ) I haven't had a new radio for nearly 20 years, my last Futaba radio ( so long big F ) a 10CAP was awesome and worked perfectly for nearly for a decade, it was new to me but not brand spanking new.

I've been thinking of getting a new radio for some time now, the 16chl Futaba, Jeti was my second choice but I got influenced by Raffy because he has the DS-24, thank you for your support man!

Time to start learning Jeti talk.

CARS II 07-17-2020 04:49 PM

My Jeti DS-12 has a home, my JR10X radio case, it fits perfectly.

I bought my radio from Aeropanda, Danny is a great person to talk to and he has good knowlage on this system, I ordered a 12 Chl assist receiver among a few other things, I will start with that, we will see were I go as far as receivers, switches, telemetry etc. goes.

True on all that Daniel, but I got lost in the Jeti DS24 thread, as new Jeti DS12 owner I would prefer a specific thread for my equipment, you can't look at the Jeti systems as a new owner anymore, there is lots of new ways how to do things and for a new Jeti owner it can be confusing, I can assure you, I will learn my radio's programming, I like to move slowly.
I thank you for all your posting on the previous thread, we always need knowledgeable members like you.

Tks.

After playing with the switches and knobs, I came to the conclusion to try some new operating procedures, I will not order any switches at the moment, the ones that the radio came with are more than sufficient for my sport jets and gas airplanes, the thing is to learn new switches possition, on my Futaba radio I have the flap switch on the right top short switch, I will now learn to use the top left for flaps, this way my right fingers will fly the model while my left fingers flips the switch, split the work in two, gear goes to the top right short switch, throttle trim goes to the left lower knob, brakes now goes from a right side slider to a top long 3 pos switch, it feels very comfortable there.

Moving forward to programming now.

Even though the 24 and 12 share alot, there are some differences and why not share what people learn?!

You are going to love it!

I can't wait to see it.

CARS II 07-17-2020 09:05 PM

What Raffy he said.

I got me a 12 Chl assist receiver on the way, I think I will have a chance to fly the Xcalibur with it this Tue or Wen.

Welcome to the Jeti Family.... Glad you decided on a professional grade system and left consumer grade behind. Danny is very knowledgeable and he enjoys helping ...ie lots of patience...

Newcomers to the Jeti world,.

As seen from a long time Futaba user ( 30 + years ) not everyone embraces new tech the same way, I stayed away from the new radios with telemetry and such because I was ok with my 10 years old F radio, finally the time came for me to embrace this tech and learn it, there is a ton of info on line about the Jeti system, you can find it on the Esprit site, RCU, RCG, YouTube and more, the amount of info can be overwhelming for a newcomer like me, the thing I see is that all this awesome info is everywhere and for a newcomer it will be like putting a 3D passel together while picking up the pieces from different boxes, I'm going to try to bring these first steps into the Jeti world togather, here so it makes it easy for the newcomers to have a starting point.

First thing, even before I got my radio, I downloaded the Jeti studio, the latest version is on top.

http://www.jetimodel.com/en/JETI-Studio-2/

With the Jeti studio the radio and receivers can be updated to the newest software and the telemetry data can be review.

When I my got radio, first things was to put it to charge and to download the latest software using the Jeti studio, Harry C's video shows how to do it the short way, I wish I had know that and I whish someone had posted what I needed to do after getting my Jeti radio, here it is now.

Next step is very important, set the date and time, I just found that Harry has a series of vids for the newcomer like me on what steps to fallow after you get your Jeti radio, thank you for the vids Harry.

Now that I posted all that, I got to make the time to watch the vids myself, ha ha ha.

So much to do, so little time.

CARS II 07-18-2020 04:19 PM

As I mention before, Esprit also has lots of vids that will help newcomers on the inital set up.

Dansy 07-18-2020 04:21 PM

Spirit?

CARS II 07-18-2020 04:21 PM

Watching all these vids has given me a strong start into the Jeti world.

CARS II 07-18-2020 04:26 PM

Daniel, thank you for the correction, some times phones have their own mind, at least mine does :)

I was going what correction? I see what you mean now...you mention spirit earlier as well, So I was just curious....always willing to learn....

CARS II 07-18-2020 05:13 PM

Aha! Then we are in the same page, onto the next vid ( at work watching the videos between assignments:)

CARS II 07-18-2020 09:40 PM

WOW! I watch all 4 videos in the past 2 hrs, Harry's vids are definitely much thorough explaining the initial set up on the Jeti radios, I learned a few more tricks today.

One important thing I learned for the vids, I have been doing control setups from Right to Left, now I will have to start thinking Left to Right, over all, the way I used to set up my controls is out the door and must start from scratch, better to star new that trying to use how I used to do my set ups, it only confuses me.

CARS II 07-18-2020 09:57 PM

Harry has so many vids, I will have to make a list of all of them so I can pick which one next to watch in sequence according to an aircraft setup.

camss69 07-18-2020 10:45 PM

Yeah Harry needs descriptions with links to his vids, there’s too many to sort through on his YouTube channel.
