Jet Flyers in Penn-Ohio Area
Hi,
Are there folks flying jets in western PA or eastern OH? I saw a club north of Pittsburgh that has nice paved runways and turbines are okay. But the speed limit is 100MPH! |
Where in western PA/eastern OH will you be located?
|
Youngstown to New Castle
|
North Jackson, has the Nighthawks RC Club and there are the Oil Creek Flyers, who fly at the Titusville Municipal Airport. Both are paved runways and jet friendly, would just need to get the lay off the land from each club since both have different flying guild lines. Both great places to fly.

The Night Hawks in North Jackson OH is just outside of Youngstown OH. Paved runway, and not a bad place to fly.

If your are interested in the Oil Creek Flyers, I am the president, you can PM me.

HI,
Thanks for the information. I grew up in New Castle and used to fly with the PORKS. At the time we were in a public park next to the airport. After I moved, someone complained about the noise and the city shut the field down. Then the city completely destroyed the park so nobody could enjoy it. Someone bought a house next to a real airport and couldn't do anything about that, so the *****ed about model airplanes flying a few hours three times a week when the weather was nice. Sheeze... Anyways, as I get older, my wife and I think of moving to PA. We miss the rain! But I need a place to fly jets, its a requirement. Cheers! |
Plenty of rain in the metro louisville area and if you want to fly jets.......

I live just north of New Castle in Hermitage. I fly at the North Jackson field just outside of Austintown Oh. Also fly at a grass airstrip in Mercer.
What kind of jets do you fly? |
Hi,
I have a Carf Rebel Hot and I'm finishing up a Joker. I will be building a Wizard soon and I'll stick an X45 in my mini Avanti (eventually). Rain! Here in SoCal it rains about three times a year. In the 30+ years I've been here I can count on one the times I was rained out of something. But PA does get a lot of rain. Last year I lived there, It rained every weekend from February until June! |
I presently fly the Pirotti Rebel Pro with a Jets Munt 200. Great flyer.
I know what you mean about SoCal. I spent 3 yrs in the Navy at NAS Miramar and I swear it only rained 3 times. And yes it does rain here in PA. Just within the last few yrs, I swear it rained every weekend. Made for a bad year of flying. Maybe we will run across each other at the field when you move back to the area and start flying. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rcu...f7c6a86dfb.jpg |
