The Greatest roll of all time
I hate seeing someone crash but this is epic
|
I am already cringing at the thought of the expert keyboard pilots who will show up to kick this guy while he’s down, as if there no way they’d ever make a mistake and trash their plane.
|
Low and fast slow roll is a beautiful thing!
Bummer. Been there done that. It’s worth it |
Sponsored pilot ......He's not worried -
|
Shows you just how little room for error exists when messing with Turbine models at speed. Agreed, fantastic roll which was undone by a tiny wingtip "scuff" you can see in the slo-mo replay.

What was he trying to prove, how skilled he was or how reckless he was ? |
It WAS a great roll ......
Until he crashed when it became a terrible roll. |

The announcer is trying to stay in character as the hype man… 😆
It’s all part of the show ladies and gentlemen, it’s all part of the show! |

What a muppet, another fireball at a public event. Just what the sport does NOT need., Doesn't this guy have a clue about margins for error ?

it appears - generally - at least following basic rules minimized this. they were on the far side of the "runway" doing their demo. yeah they rode it a little too long but at least the damage is limited to the plane and some turf...
|
How about you rename this thread the dumbest slow roll of all time, ( it ended in a totally avoidable fireball ) except that of Bader, who lost his legs as a result !!
In a recent issue of Sport Aviation ( the EAA Magazine ) they explained that they are assisting the AMA in negotiations with the FAA to preserve the freedom to fly model aircraft with minimal restrictions. This sort of totally avoidable crash at a public event, widely covered on the internet, does NOTHING to help these efforts.,They must wonder why they bother. |
Would the same criticism be applied to a 3D plane in the same situation?

Looked perfectly safe to me.
On the deck, spectacular flying. Parallel to flightline as it should be. Funny how we chastise the skilled pilots. It's the person flying at 300 ft with no idea you should be worried about. |
Like I said way up at the top, the vid is bait for big headed individuals who think their exhaust smells like roses. It’s disgusting the way some act like RC GODS, casting their dispersions down onto the heads of fellow hobbyists from Mount Holier Than Thou.

+1
S&it happens and totally agree with the last two posts. Regards, |
"Greatest disaster", not the greatest roll, when you forget that Rudder is an Elevator during KE.

I can *absolutely* guarantee you that's not what happened to Pablo in this case...

The ground elevation was misleading. The slow roll rate was great...really smooth and constant.
