Pilot-RC 1.8m F16

I just received my Pilot-RC 1.8m F16. I like the fit/finish. I have not started the assembly yet, but it is PNP and should go together quickly. Has anyone flown one of these?

Hi-
I like it and was thinking to get the same one. Victor has been flying one at out field for a couple months now. He flies it a lot and has good luck with it. It is his 2nd turbine and I'd say its a good one.

Assembly was pretty easy and quick. I have not maiden it yet. Having problem with the nose gear retract. 20% of the times it doesn't fully come down and it doesn't matter if it is upside down or right side up. I have lubricated all the joints but no luck. I found a few videos on it:

What is the dry weight rtf ?? is there room to fit a little more fuel??

Not sure about the dry weight. I know it is lighter than my HSD F-16 1/8 foamy . I have a k-102 in it, I set my timer to 5 minutes and land with 1/3 tank or more.

I maiden mine yesterday, book calls for CG 145 mm from leading edge. I watched the video on the previous post and his CG is set at 170. I got my CG around 170, it flies and lands nicely. The landing gear seems narrow than HSD F-16, any cross wind and it tips over.

Aileron rates in the book are too much, I would set that as my high rates.

Still having problem with nose gear not coming down consistently.

I agree. I measured the main wheels width on HSD and it is over 2" wider than Pilot-RC F16. I hardly ever had any tipping over with HSD jet.

It does fly nicer and more precise than HSD F16.

What's people views on this jet? I've seen a few video's and every single one I've seen including Pilot's own video, the jet tips over on landing. I own a 1/5 F-16 and aware of the narrow track, but never tipped mine over. I like the idea of a smaller version to fly at my local club, where I can't fly my bigger one.

I'm surprised to read it's lighter than the HSD F-16 1/8 version

Let's just say if I were to do it again, I would not buy this jet. Main wheels are extremely narrow and it tips over most of the time. the nose gear works on the stand but it gets stuck coming down during flight.
