Help with building round fuselag
 

I have just started construction of my first round fuselage. I would appreciate any tips or pointers, and in particular, directing me toward any videos or detailed instructions regarding building the clutch and assembling the fuselage, especially critical set up and first steps. https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-...her-build.html I took Ziroli plans and blew them up to 1/4 scale. Five planes were started but only two were finished. The thread has a bunch of pictures of the build. Build the crutch over the plans to ensure it is true. Support it above the flat work table with a bunch of what ever you have that is the same to keep it level. I used peanut jars. Slide the bulkheads onto the crutch. They should slide on easily but not be sloppy loose. Tack them in place at a right angle to the crutch unless otherwise noted. Start adding stringers everywhere you can on the up side of the fuse. Then sheet the mild curves and strip plank the tighter curves over those stringers. Grade the wood for where it would work best. Harder balsa does not bend as easily as softer balsa. Narrow strip planks bend easier than sheets. You will have a combination of both. It should now be rigid enough to flip over and repeat the stringing and sheeting process on the other side of the fuse. CA and accelerator gets the sheeting To stick right away....... Read all the notes on the plan sheets. It will give you a little insight on what to do. Don't be nervous. It is impossible for you to ruin anything. You are the creator. If you don't like what you did remove it and do it again........ It is good to hear someone is building and not assembling.
