New jet from Skymaster
Just saw it on the Skymaster web-site. Their new project is a X-35 in 1-7,5 scale. It did not say anything about release date... I am looking forward to the release of this jet. Maybe it will one day find it's way to Norway..[sm=biggrin.gif]
You can see it here: http://web.my8d.net/skymasterjet/news.htm |

Too much building :-)
We want some fiber glass construction :-) SJ. |

Too much building :-) We want some fiber glass construction :-) SJ. I reach my pain limit building so called ARF jets :D:D I would never have the patience building anything like that pile of Wood on the pictures, but all respect to those who do! |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
I might be a little partial since I work for Lockheed, but it's nice to see someone produce a new kit for the jet scene.
Skymaster, I'll take one! Regards, Chris |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
These guys are pumping out some jets!!!!!!

WOW!! A work of art!!

RE: New jet from Skymaster
Geez, how about a nice size arf f-86 or mig -15. No history at all with those new fangled jets, arghhhhh...
|
RE: New jet from Skymaster
vincent,
give them a few weeks and they will have "arfed" all know airplanes. these guys are seriously busy. I have never seen anyone put out this many kits soo quickly. Scott |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
Hi Vincent,
Thank You for your suggestion, we will work with Skymaster for these ideas for new projects. How you like your Me-262? |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
Eric,
Thanks for the feedback. It seems the sabres, migs, F-16s, F-15s etc. are like the mustangs to the prop guys. They will always sell in big numbers, especially in the arf version and at a good price. I don`t own the electric 262 anymore but have a twin wren one on the back burner... |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
I'll second the sabre request. The larger ones (74" or so) seem to be in short supply. I think the only sabre options right now are the smaller JHH, BVM and Trim offerings.

Hi all,
I design the F-35 and cut the formers with laser to build a unit for testing flying. Building molds to fibreglass a model is a huge job. I will not do it unless the model is proved airworthiness. Anyhow, the all wood construction is the first step which I cannot get rid of. Here are new picts where we test fitting a 12lb thrust turbine in the air frame, and a double-walled tailpipe built. On the other hand I mold the baby F-14 that I built because it is a scaled down version of the Avonds plan. I have to order 30 units from the factory to get the molds built free of charge. This is fine because I received more than 20 requests from other modellers so I have to pay a few units only. Let the all wood contruction F-35 flies first. If you all are interested in getting a fibreglass fuse, I'll ask the factory to mold it. Enjoy. Aldous Yuen |

BTW, we are building 4 sets of F-35 in Hong Kong. Some of them to be test fly by .91 grade D/Fs. Here are the twins.

Forgot to mention one thing. The small F-35 on the right of the pict that Stig Andersen posted did fly already. This is a pict of the finished model ready to launch. www.oakdaleaircraft.com got it's flying picts. I know oakdaleaircraft is building a fibreglass fuse of this small F-35.

Hi Stig,
The size of the big F-35 is 5'6". In fact another bigger one (8'10") is under construction. Here is a pict showing the 5'6" version and the first half of the 8'10" version. Aldous. |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
Here is one for the Airpac and Skymaster guys...we need a Tornado, F-3 or GR1 Version doesn't matter. I Would love to see that one.

RE: New jet from Skymaster
Hi all,
We scheduled to fly the Skymaster F-15 this weekend with a 16lb thrust turbine. Hi Eric Wu, I read from your web site that you are the distributor of Skymaster. Any tips and tricks to share before our first flight? Cheers. Aldous. |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
Hi Aldous
My name is Duke Chung I'm Eric's partner at Airpacmodels. The F-15C is easy to fly no problems on takeoff, or landing it is pretty much like an Avonds F-15 if you have flown that one. As far as things to watch out for. 1. CG @ 6.75" measured from the leading edge of the wing back, fuel dry. 2. All set screws on the struts, axel's and wheels, and brakes lock tight. You might even want to file flats on the axel's 3. Make sure that the wheels have enough toe in. Test roll the airplane to check, visual inspection can be misleading. 4. Make sure that the wheels do not touch anything in the up and locked position, this can cause the gear to stick in the up position. This is for the Landing Gear from Jet Taiwan. 5. Take off. On the first takeoff try to keep the angle of attack down until you build up some speed. The airplane will fly slow, but it is much easier to fly with some speed. 6. Landing is pretty straight forward. First get used to flying it slow high up during the flight. Then come in a little early and try some practice approaches up high. The F-15 will respond to throttle well, it just depends on what turbine you are using as far as how soon you need to decide to go around or not. On final make sure you bring the nose up while getting ready to add power as needed. If you do not come in nose high the F-15 will come in too fast. Check out our website we have a video of the airplane taking off and landing. The take off is heavy with smoke system and 20 lbs thrust turbine. The landing video is a bit slower that what is normal but it was a good short field approach, :) windows media 9 codec used to make movies. http://www.airpacmodels.com/aircraft/f-15c/movies.htm I hope this helps, You will have much fun I'm sure. |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
Dear Duke,
Thanks for your comprehensive info. We also feel the model is heavy and use 16-17lb thrust turbine. Cheers. Aldous. |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
We would like to congradulate you on the ownership of your new F-15. You should have no problems with this plane. It's very easy to fly and maneuver. Thanks Duke, he already explane all for this plane. Don't worry, just relax and enjoy your flight. [8D]
You shouldn't have any worries about the structure of the F-15. We've used and abused ours during tests flights and the structure holds up beautifully. :D It can withstand more than you could expect. We have even come across some in the UK who'd flown this F-15 with a P-160. How's that for durability? Enjoy your Jet, and if you have any furthar questions, please feel free to contact us anytime. If you'd like to share some pics of you jet in action, we'd be happy to see those too. |
RE: New jet from Skymaster
Hello Eric,
can you give us some more information on the new F-35 JSF? Estimated price, and release date? Regards, Chris |

Hi!
I received my F 15 two days ago, and I have to say that I am impressed! The plane is so detailed with panel lines all over and lots of scale details. I picked the red, blue and white scheme, and I think it looks beautiful on this jet! I am going to use a SimJet 3000 in it. The pictures on the Skymaster web-site just not show how impressive this jet really is! I have a few questions for the Airpac guys: Is there a left and right elevon, or are they identical? There was no manual with the plane. Does it exist on somewhere? Where did you put the tanks for the smoke oil, and how much oil do you carry? |
