Most will tell you it is not the same thing.
But i think it is a good place to start.
I have no one to help me fly jets here in my country.
So I have to do everything on my own. building, test flying ...etc.
before my maiden flight with F86, I practices with G2. I changed the jet parameters in the simulator to match my jet, then flew the sim for hours.
On the test flight (my first jet flight ever), without any real flying experience, I managed to have a successful flight.
was it any thing like the simulator? I dont know.
but the simulator prepared me for it, and I can tell you how much I appreciate it.

good luck

the G2 F-16 flies just like my BVM one did ... actually, it is easier to land it in real life than on the sim ...

The KingCat in add on 5 is very realistic in terms of performance and speed. I can't quite dial enough exponential into the elevator on the sim as I can in the real world, which makes landing the sim a bit harder. I was really impressed, though. Regards, Keith.

RE: real flight g2

the f-16 flew similar to both the turbine and DF ... only diference was a niticeable increase in power ... id say G2 is closer to a turbine F-16 ... it behaves very similarly in sharp bank turns (will snap out in the same way), and the way you land is also very much similar , both draging the plane to the run way, or doing a steep drop with a flare ...

As for the King Cat, i think landing in G2 is not that bad, you just have to bring it all the way down. with the nose slightly down (at around 40mph) to where its 2 - 3 feet above ground, and smoothly pull the elevator till it flares and settles .. .. i have a feeling the landing is going to be a lot easier in real life ... cant wait to get it ...
