Savex L39
Greetings from downunder,
Would anyone have any video footage of the L39/MW44 combo. It might be just the thing to fly at my local (grass field) club every weekend.[8D] Cheers Ken |
RE: Savex L39
Ken, where do you intend to fly it every weekend? I might just have to come and have a look!

RE: Savex L39
Im not sure if there is any vidio of the L39 out there but I can assure you that if you can get a trainer in and out of your club field then the L39 will be no problem. It takes of slowly and with full flaps it lands even slower.
if you exclude all these flying wing type thinks around then the Svex is the best value for money jet there is. jason |

Ossie
I agree with Jason, no problem at all, but make sure you order the falps option, it makes a big difference. |
RE: Savex L39

RE: Savex L39
Ken,
Mine has been flying off grass at Maitland in zero wind and temps in the 30s, no problem at all ! It will be flying again as soon as the newly upraded autostart 44 arrives back in Australia, possibly this week. Regards, David Gladwin. |
RE: Savex L39
David, please let me know when you fly, I'd love to come up and see!

Stumax is an extremely clever guy who makes some REALLY interesting all-composite EDF jets, in case people did not know...

ORIGINAL: craigdyer Hi Ossie I fly my eurosport and L39 at Blacktown.Come have a look some day. Regards Craig Wow. I posted this back in Jan 2004, when I was looking at the little L39. I did end up ordering one, she arrived last Aug. I've just about finished it now. Work and other projects have kept me fairly busy. Was trying to have it ready for Adelaide, but work will prevent me from going. You may remember me from Wangaratta last year, I also have a eurosport (red). My friend Mick and myself spoke to you and John for a good part of the weekend. Yep, I will come out to Blacktown, let me know when your heading out next. Cheers Ken "[email protected]" |

I've been up at Mailtland a few times in the last month or so with the eurosport, be nice to catch up with you again. Hows your euro coming along ?? My L39 should be with me next time I'm up there. I've read you posts on the autostart for the 44, I may do the same. Cheers Ken |
RE: Savex L39
No, it's true. Totally fascinating stuff. Absolutely neat and unusual. Most people here probably do not know about the stuff, either. I just saw your new sportjet thread, pretty cool.
Will your panther possibly fit an 80mm kamdax fan? What does a bare airframe weigh? |
RE: Savex L39
Thank, Curtis! BTW, the Panther's wayyyyy too small for that fan. It would fit the F104 OK, but you'd need to roll up a transition duct between the inlet duct and the fan to get to 80mm fro 69mm, not a big deal.
|
RE: Savex L39
But the 104 probably won't go anywhere on a mere 16 ounces or so of thrust....
