JD Enterprises F-18 Hornet

Has anyone Built and flown this model ? I'm thinking of buying it but would like some info first. I'm almost ready to maiden my Skyburner 60 scratch built form M.A.N plans. The JD Enterprises F-18 Hornet may be my next jet project.

Hallo Raven;
MAN (Model Airplane News magazine) did a bench and fly review on the JD F-18 in October 1996. They may still have a back copy available.
I build my ducted fan models from plans also, but from Trablet or RCM plans list.
Balsa always is lighter (and cheaper) than 'glass & foam.

FWIW,
I had some video of the JDE F-18 in flight....I think it had a Webra .82 motor with a Dynamax fan, I will tell you that it looked FAST, and had one incredible roll rate! The landing approach looked fast too, it came in hot.

Regards,
Joey.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll check M.A.N.'s website and see about that back issue. I checked traplet and all I could find there was an f-18 prop jet.

I'd love to see that video Joey. You wouldn’t happen to remember where you downloaded it at would ya? I don't mind the speed, roll rate, or the hot landing. I'm used to flying birds with those characteristics anyway. I'm more concerned as to weather it tucks or rolls out of a turn. I like flying airplanes that fly like they are on rails and groove real tight. I hate flying plans that tuck or roll out. A plane with those tendencies doesn’t stay in my hanger for long

Sorry Raven,
The video was on VHS...I will dig around, If I can find it I will send it to you;)
However, I can say, it looked like a blast to fly!

Joey.
