fat Tango?
 

I just did a weight check on my Tango and it weighs 22 pounds ready to fly, with full fuel, PST 600R, and all other needed gear. I was just curious what other builders weights are/were?

Also, for those people running the same engine or equivalent (12 pound thrust) what kind of performance can I expect. Thanks a lot.

That's heavier than a Bandit, why aren't people putting bigger motors on them, I know the P-80/P-120/P-160 size will fit.

22lbs wet is about right on this plane, it carries somewhere around 100 to 120 oz of fuel. It will do fine on the 600R but vertical will be somewhat limited for the first half of flight. I had a P-80 in mine and vertical was unlimited from takeoff. I flew for 10-12 min and still had plenty of fuel left, didnt use full power much except for vertical. Don has been flying his on the 600R and it does quite well.....No need for a P-120 but a P-80 seems to be a perfect match at 19lbs thrust...
just dont get it too slow without flaps [:o]

Well, that is good news about its flight characteristics. I knew from the "get go" that it would not have unlimited vertical, but I started to get a little concerned when the weight kept creeping up.[:-]

You can bet I'll keep the speed up to avoid the dreaded tip stall, especially after watching your video. Thanks for the great footage by the way. I played it over and over looking for any clues as to the "why" of the incident and can sum it up in three words, "I don't know".:D
