Which Turbine
Well looks like the trend for raising prices for turbines are now in and Taxes are coming back. One must wonder here. I am looking seriously into which turbines to buy again and I am in need of two to three turbines and will purchase them all together. Who gives the best breakes for multiple engines and who got engines? I am looking for 2/14+lb small turbine and 1/25+lb larger turbine. mostly who has them in stock by the first week of Feb? also the poll is for which small turbines are the best and post your experiance please with them.

I have about 70+ runs on my Wren 54 and have had no problems. I have the manual start and the system has worked just fine. They do offer an auto start version. The manual start saves about 10oz which is why I chose it for my plane. The folks at Wren are great. There are some delays getting a motor right now so I'm not sure what the wait will be.....but it will be worth the wait! I set my timer for 8 minutes and I carry 42oz plus a UAT (4oz) and always land with the uat full plus some in the last tank. Hope that helps.

I voted for SimJet. I have a SimJet 1200 (12lbs+) turbine and the SimJet 3000 (30 lbs) I have been flying SimJet turbines for 5 years now with complete satisfaction. (Of course, the SimJet factory is only a two hour drive away from where I live, so buying SimJets was a natural choice for me. Right now the dollar isn't very strong compared to European currencies, but I know from SimJet that they have made an insurance, if the dollar would go weak. This means the you can purchase a SimJet turbine for a lot less money than some other brands at the moment. Also compare the specs. of the different 12 lbs turbines on the market. I think you will find that the SimJet 1200 is a good choice. They also make a SimJet 1200 SP, which has 15 lbs of thrust. Try and contact Kevin or Ed at Great Northern Models. They are the dealer for North America. Just my 2 cents. |

I own a Simjet 1200 AES and I love it. Starts first time every time and although this is a 12lb class engine I tested mine and was getting 13.5lbs of thrust. I'm only on my first turbine but you cant beat Kevin and Ed when it comes to customer service.

I had put thought about the Robart Funsonic, but have not heard anything about them; and I already know how long it takes to get orders from them on struts just ask Tam I have had the same experiance so what makes there turbine any diffrent.

Try FTE engines it is the old RAM line and I have had great sucess !!

If damage it you can fix it yourself. Great turbine, great guys (and Sara). |

Simjet 1200 SP (15 Lb) on this side. Absolutely fantastic , also quickest throttle response afaik.
Only probs I had were due to insufficient filtering of the fuel (filters blocked). Not very flexible in the ECU, but you won't need it A choice you won't regret. G.J. |

In my opinion, if I were looking to buy 3 engines, price (within reason) would not be as important to me as quick and reasonable after sales service. Before making a major investment like that, why not go to one of the jet rallies in your area and find out WHAT the guys are flying and WHY? That will tell the tale. I personally have decided on Jet Cat. Good Luck.

Artes without a question! My JF-50 Bee is putting out 13.5 pounds (actual) and is in a Yellow Starfire, vertical all day long. Easy starts, reliable and ony burns a little over 5oz. per min. at full throttle. The Artes Eagle is equally as good. Currently in a AD F-16 and runs flawless.

I have been putting alot of thought in Artes BEE and EAGLE I hear they have the same spool time as Simjet can anyone verify this that has one?

Hi David please see us @ Florida Jets with the New Super Bee @ 14 lbs you wont find a turbine with faster spool up time with more thrust to weight with the fuel flow, we will have the new Eagle, 30lbs plus version also, you can run it and fly one of are demo planes Thanks Paul AJUSA
