Simjet Software

Does anyone know of any software out there that you can use to connect to a simjet turbine via serial connector to obtain the turbine information and also set parameters?

SimJet offers the IRDT (Infra Red Data Terminal).

This device allows the user to view the start sequence, operating parameters, battery voltage, pump voltage, RPM, total time, etc. in real time via a hand-held wireless data terminal. You can also set the thrust levels (low/medium/high) and the plug voltage with the same data terminal... However, the terminal has to be plugged into the ECU's wiring harness with the included cable to affect any changes.

I believe all new engines are shipped with the IRDT as part of the package. Older engine owners can have the required firmware uploaded to their ECU and purchase the IRDT hardware from SimJet or their SimJet Dealer.

You can see it at Great Northern Models website:

Hope this helps!

No dont want to sell it.

I am using it when I run a turbine, for the first time in an new plane. Just to see if everything is ok. So give SimJet a call.....

Mad;

The porceedure without the IRDT is to utilize the "Control Panel LED's" to identify what was happening during the start to run sequence.

This procedure and the meanings of the LED's are clearly indentified in the SIMJET opertating manual.

It is important to note that you cannot change the power settings of the SIMJET without the use of the IRDT (Infra-Red Data Terminal) and an ECU that is "IR Ready"

Again, please check in with Kevin or Ed at Great Northern Models.
