ADJETS small Rafale

How well will the small rafale fly on a ram500? Or should I stick with a P80 in her?

I just tried to reply to your PM, but I got an error message, and all the text I typed just dissappeared.[:@]

I think the P80 is about as small as I would want to go in the small AD Rafale. Mine came out heavy at about 18 1/2lb dry and I carry about 70oz of fuel in 3 custom tanks plus a UAT. I've got sequencing doors on all the gear. Everything is a tight fit as it isn't that big of a model.

Takeoffs seem variable, sometimes it gets off in about 300ft, othes it uses up nearly all of our 600ft runway before leaping into the air. That is with full back stick for all of the ground roll. I havent worked out why it is so variable, but with only 10 flights on it I'm still feeling her out.

Mine wouldn't fly at all on DF power, take off and then immediatly drag would overcome thrust and she would sink into the ground. The P80 is great though, the almost walking pace slow passes at high AOA with full back stick and probably 70-80% power look amazing, I'd never have though a heavy model could fly that slow. Landings are reasonably slow and I carry about 1/2 power on approach. Still plenty of power for those big jet loops as well. Full power doesn't seem go give an unreasonable top speed either, not much change in level speed above about 80% throttle.

Good luck.

Paul

Buddy,

I have one with Ram 500, 1.7Lt fuel tank, spring air retracts, BVM Wheels/Brakes. Flight is awesome. It does any maneuver you want.

Rick.
