500 Start System
Albert,
First, thanks so much for your input to this forum! Great to know your out there. Can you tell me what the 'optimum' pressure the propane/butane mix should be (in psi) for proper, reliable starts. Also is it possible to have the gas bottle not installed in the aircraft and just disconnected when the start processes is over? What would you need for this?? Maybe a Festo check valve between the bottle and the solenoid ? OR does the solenoid close after fuel ramp? Thanks W.G.Hunter |

Don't know what the optimum pressure is for the gas. This pressure varies with temperature. this is why we give you the gas adjust parameter. As far as removing the gas can after start, You could leave it out all together. If you use the trigger valve we sell, you can push up the trigger and the gas will stay on. Simply hook it up in place of the gas tank by using a straight Festo fitting. After the engine starts, lower the trigger and disconnect the line. The solenoid will close automatically.
