Those "Quick Clamps" scare the heck out of me. I would never use anything but screws--- nuts and bolts. An accident waiting to happen.

Hey guys, Just resurching the wren mw54 & ran across this picture of my turbine. The P120 put out 27.5 lbs of thrust according to this test bench which I believe will serve me superbly for many years to come. I can assure you 27.5 is enough thrust to push most rc aircraft, but not even close to being able to break the hold of 2 quickgrip devices.

Quick Clamps

If you are careful with the Quick Clamps, I don't think there will be a problem. Actually, it is a nice looking test stand!

We machined a split aluminum clamp with a spring latch and piano hinge for our test stand. It is very heavy duty but it needs to be since it is used daily. The clamp is affixed to an aluminum plate with linear bearings and has a digital thrust meter capable of measuring up to 50 lbs integral with the mounting plate. Thrust measurements are fairly accurate. We have a complete weather station measuring barometric pressure and temperature of the inlet air and ambient air of the room but we also have a 18.5 foot long inlet pipe and tail pipe to the roof that degrades about 10% from the readings.
