Where are you going with this? Can I do it with a pair of scissors and coffee cup? I've got a couple of turbochargers in the junk pile. What do I need, and how much will it cost? Can you run it with an old lap top? A pocket calculator? I'd build one just to listen to it spool up.

Hi john

It’s a kj-66 so it will fall under the home built waiver.

Hi
Gordy

“I've got a couple of turbochargers in the junk pile”

Yes gordy many people have built turbine jet engines from turbochargers (jpx Sophia)

Old lap top? A pocket calculator? Why not?
I have found most jet people to be above average

I use an old laptop for data acquisition on all my turbines.

This is a photo of what may be one of the most important points of assembly fitting the bearings to the tube
So that the outer race has no run out.

The o ring method saves a lot of precision man hours but also adds other concerns.
