Dynamax fan

I have a Dynamax fan (second hand) and the rotor bolt that you insert the starter probe into is worn out. I know JMP sell replacements but I live in Austalia and it would take a while to order. Does anyone know if there is an alternative does the rotor bolt fom the Trim Ramtec fan fit it ?

Thanks

RE: Dynamax fan

I used to buy my bolts from a local bolt shop. I can't remember the size or the thread pitch though. Maybe someone will come on and let you know what it is. I used to buy 10 at a time and would replace them at the first sign of wear. There is nothing worse than getting to the field just to find that the bolt is too stripped to start the motor... except trying to get a really stripped bolt out. Good Luck.

When you you get the new bolt - put a dab of wheel bearing grease on the end of the starter probe - it will make the inside hex last MUCH longer..........

As far as I can remember the only difference between Dynamax & Ramtec was the pitch of the rotor.

5/16" x 24 hex bolt. 1" or 1 1/4" long. It's a common size you might be able to find at a hardware store or by mail order. If you can't find one that short, you can always cut a longer one down. The bolt is the same on both Ramtec or Dynamax although I think Ramtec may have been the shorter one. Use white lithium grease on the starter probe.

Ramtec uses a shorter bolt than the Dynamax but both use the same thread.

If its the part i'm thinking of, and you can use a ramtec one in a dynamax fan, i've sent you a pm.

Thanks Guys
I got a ramtec one from Trim aircraft. It is a little bit shorter but fits fine.

Problem solved.
