Charge Leads?
 

OK, I'm using a Schultz Cham. to charge my ECU batt but have not used that charger for the Rx batt because it calls for a 2.5mm charge lead?
According to conversion charts that's about 10 gauge wire right? How in the world do you cram that size wire into the Rx batt connector?
What are you guys doing for "heavy duty" charge leads? I know the Graupner ECU leads are not 10 gauge - there's no way!
What am I missing here?

Hi Smitty,
I also use a Schultz charger. The solution is to solder in an additional pair of charging wires to your receiver pack. Fit the ends with a Jetcat plug as per your ECU pack and charge your RX pack through the heavier gauge leads.

Hi!

I think you might have misunderstood what is being said! I'm not familiar with your charger, but presumably the charge leads use "coaxial" barrel type connectors?? If so, the "2.5mm" refers to a particular standard size coaxial connector, and not to the wire diameter!! Go to Radio Shack, and you will find that they have all the standard size coaxial connectors!

John, the manual states that the cable "should be no longer than 20cm and have a cross section of at least 2.5mm"

Hi Smitty,
There are a lot of guys in Australia using the Schultz charger. Nearly everyone is using charge leads that are around 1 metre in length. I have been using a charge lead of that length for over 18 months with absolutely no problems. You can also solder a standard thin gauge wire with standard plug onto the heavier gauge charge lead to charge your existing RX pack. This does not cause any problem, however due to the thinner gauge wire then you will only be able to charge the pack at a lower rate and it will take considerabley longer.
