Interested in this one?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi everybody,
After lilterally years of begging, I was able to get some very good data from NASA on their AGATE/SATS concept plane. (image attached) If built between 1/4 and 1/6th scale, (It's not really "scale", since it was a concept plane.) it would have good performance, and be suitable for either pusher prop or turbine. (NASA's concept shows both configurations) If you're interested in seeing this kit make it to production, please email me and let me know, so I can consider if it's worth it to build the plugs, molds, etc.. The same kit, with only a rear "cowling" modification, would be suitable for either version. Thanks! |
RE: Interested in this one?
Forgive me for bumping this back to the top of the list. (I won't do it again.)
Just wanted to insure that enough of you saw it to give me an idea of possible interest in a kit. Thanks, everybody. |
RE: Interested in this one?
Nice looking airplane and something other than a 'Roo knockoff/clone/fillintheblank or a big F-100 with a different set of decals ... You're doomed! Hey, if you like it, BUILD it for yourself - after all, we're supposed to be *MODELERS* [sm=sunsmiley.gif]
Good luck with your project. Mike |
RE: Interested in this one?
OK, here's my take Mike.
I think, given the quality of your kits and what they 'need' to cost, that anyone serious enough to by consider that kind of quality and expense, would probably want to model something actual...something that replicates a full-scale, actual plane. It is a very cool looking ship. You might say "hey, it's not as bizzare as the Long EZ and it garnered a great interest"...however, the Long EZ existed and was a semi-familiar airframe to many. This thing would fly off the shelves if it were a foamie, and in the foamie price range. Look at the MicroJet and TwinJet foamie models. They do well, and are tons of fun. Now, you know that I could be totally wrong in my assessment. But you are my bro, so you unfortunately get the priveledge of hearing my opinion. If it twernt you, Ida probly not responded. L8, Paul |
RE: Interested in this one?
Thanks, Paul!
I think you're right... Based on the responses, (which are mighty thin) it probably wouldn't be worth the hassle of plugs and molds. |
RE: Interested in this one?
Mike, why not build one for yourself?
It is a beautiful ship!! David |
RE: Interested in this one?
Mike is a little beyond building unique RC aircraft for his own personal pleasure, as RC is more of a business than a personal hobby for him. Plus he has a long list of projects, previously slated for production, ahead of him. Me thinks he was wondering if this one should get in the back of the line...or get stored in the archives for revival in 2010.
Your right though David, she's a beaut. |
