extension wire source?

Looking for a source for extension wire, in bulk, heavy duty guage, and maybe already in triple stands and color coded housings.

Thanks,
Ray

About 2/3 of the way down the page you will find heavy duty servo wire.

extension wire

I have used shielded twisted wire for long runs. I have had interference problems with straight wires especially using digital servos and y's.

Re: extension wire

I deal security systems, and there is a cat5 type cable we use which is twisted /shielded, I may even have a piece I can mail you if you only need a few feet.

Cat 5 cable?

Richard,

What Cat 5 cable are you using? The stuff I deal with (plenum or non-plenum) is all solid wires and would be prone to vibration damage I would think? For what it's worth, I've wired up a "custom" wiring harness in a F-82 twin Mustang using some multi-conductor shielded wiring from Belden. Lot's of stock stuff available with & without shielding. Has held up real well, & sure beats dragging a bunch of individual extension cords thru the center section of the wings.

Bob, let me get the # off it, and I will get back to you later in the day, it is stranded.

Richard, is it three conductor and who makes it? Eddie and I have used the Belden stuff, but I would like something thicker, at least 22 gage.

Cat 5 is four pair. I'll get the wire size for you later today! I think its 18G.

Gentlemen,
thank you all for your information. Looks like Cermark has the best "value" of 22 guage. 100 feet for $40.00. Does anyone have any experience using this wire?

Thanks again, I always know where to come for best info

I have, and it is what I needed for my application.

For what its worth, a lot of jet guys in Europe are using the Fiber Optic servo extensions to eleminate any chance of long extension glitches.
