The Yellow Aircraft website is not going to be a source of info on kit availability until later this year. That site is in the process of being redone, but until then.....
If anyone has questions regarding anything having to do with Yellow Aircraft, let me offer you this advice: Email Scott Reid or myself, call Yellow direct, or post the question in here. Don't look to the current website for updated info. Hopefully, this will be remedied soon, but for now.... As for the Stingray, it is due in port within a week, then will be shipping toward the end of the month. People on the waiting list will have priority, as well as those individuals holding certificates for them. If you have any questions, or want to confirm your spot on the list, please give me an email. There are currently about 11 people who've expressed interest via email to me, and I'd recommend emailing again with a yea/nay. Thanks a lot! Paul: The dramamine is all worn off (I was too sick to go to work, so I got to go fishing with Paul and Corey on their 60 ft. luxury ocean cruiser--the kind that looks like the presidential suite at the Ritz-Carlton inside). I even brought home a tasty little calico bass! |
F-14 update
Shaun,
do you have any perspective as to when the F-14 will be available. I am looking for a set of landing gear. Dave |

Does anyone know how much it will go for. I am not sure but it is only for small turbines.

Hi,
The Stingray will be only $399. It is built for the small turbines, like Simjet 1200/Ram 500/Wren 54/etc. Due to it's light weight, and superior reliability, some are going to install the JetCat P-80. The P-80 is only a few ounces heavier than the Ram 500 or the Simjet. It is bulkier (the engine itself, NOT the components), but I think that will be easily overcome. I'm putting one on my Stingray, and if I'm the first to do it, I'll let you know how it goes. Best regards, |
Made the switch
Shaun Evans,
Discount Hobby Warehouse Flight Demonstration Team Yellow Aircraft, Int'l. "Making that Switch..." Seems that all you Simjet guys are making the switch. Welcome to the dark side :-) PW |

Turbinator,
Play nice, now.....:-) Seriously, though, I installed, ran and flew one in a Starfire for a customer of mine, and that was pretty much that. The transition time on the P-80 was much slower than on the Simjet, but that's a small price to pay for the other differences. It seems that Jet Cat's electronics are the last word. Anyway, I'm preaching to the choir. |

Shaun,
Do you have a Stringray photo you could post again? I remember seeing one ages ago but didn't pay that much attention as I figured it would be too small for my engine. However, if you are strapping a P-80 on one, then I'm keen for another look. Regards, Garrett |
Stingray
I am one of the top guys on the waiting list and can't wait to get it! :)
In my opinion (from what I've seen and heard) is that the smaller MW-54, RAM 500 and a MW44 would be a perfect match for this bird. It is one sleek looking small bird and installing a bigger engine like P-80 would spoil its looks. I doubt we'll be able to go to max throttle with a 17lb thrust engine anyway. I know we can detune the engine but another consideration would be residual thrust! With a sleek, slippery design like that, its not going to want to come down slow. If I can find a MW-54, RAM 500 at a good price and a reliable running state, I'll get one but untill then, I'm planning on using my trusty GWM FD 3/67 engine on it. The looks will spoil a bit but Landing should be a no-brainer! Thanks - Adil |
