Bvm Wont Help ?
Hi ,This I found this weird? I have always purchased Bvm Goodies, wheels brakes, Aeropoxy, conversion kits, uats ect,, and always got great customer service ect ...But I needed a rudder torque rod for My F-16 ,I asked to purchase one from them that they use in their F-100( its a part that allows you to plug you rudder in and it hooks up to the servo output arm) they refused to sell it to me ,I asked why and they said they just wont, Seems stupid ? if I wanted to copy the design ,I could Just order a kit! and do so, how much money could I make selling a rudder torque rod? Would they be liable for damage ? they sale 100s of kits wheels brakes ect.I could get the part second hand. I Just don't Get it ! I will still order their wheels and brakes and goodies but wish they would of been more helpful...

wow
Sounds like a win/win situation on their part - don't sell you the torque rod (?) and you will still do business with them - how can they lose.
Did they give an actual reason for the torque rod, or just say 'no' Ralph |
Bvm Wont Help ?
have you told them that you want to make mods on the F16? if so, i believe they refused to sell to avoid custom adaptations on theyr designs...you know how perfectionist BV is!!
anyway, you can do it by yourself with brass tube, steel rod and some criativity...take your chance.. best wishes, fred |

BVM
Well, I could of said I lost it,It was missing out of a second hand kit, but I thought they would be willing to help someone who buys their goods ,they didn't give me a no answer when I asked for the BVM $1000.00 conversion Kit for the F-86. someone who recently ordered a kit might call them up and ask for a replacement one ,would they refuse them? Anyways I really like BVM and will still do business but before I decide on purchasing another high end kit they will have a check mark in the con line if you know what I mean... thanks for the reply guys...

That surprises me a little. I converted a byron f-16 over to tractor and bought the bvm landing gear and gear door set-up. Then I called and ordered the instructions for the bvm f-16. The gal asked what I wanted them for and I told her and she shipped them right out. The F-16 kit probably isn't as popular as the 100. Maybe you don't have a good phone voice. :D

Just call up and order an F-100 kit (like you said), that way you get the torque rod plus a lot of other parts too.

Hmmm,
I find this hard to believe? I fly with BV on a regualr basis and I dont know anyone more "Giving" to this hobby than bob. He is an incredible man thats ALWAYS willing to help, his product or not. He must have a reason for not wanting to supply this perticular item? I'll see him sunday, I'll prod  Todd |

Boy, I was thinking the same thing. I have a feeling if this were another jet supplier, they would be going down in flames with the comments posted. just a thought Sam |

This is really going too far. One person posts solely his side of a story and you're so willing to jump. Why not accept the fact that you have no idea what really happened here? Do you think that maybe this was just a failure to communicate? Did Paul ever state that he talked to BV himself? And even if it's true that BVM wouldn't sell the part, there may be very good reasons why that is the case. BV has forgot more about these jets then most of us will ever know.
This happens in these forums all the time to many other manufacturers including BVM. It really gets tiring after a while, and is really not a positive contribution. One of the additional cons to counter a dwindling number of pros to these forums. A good case for more pro-active moderating. |

Paul,
It must be those Relska again. Change to GreyGoose. Maybe you can get your part. :D Tam |

Now hold on you guys you need to stop this **** ! ,and start being realistic . BVM has done more for the jetset than any other manufacturer in the world , his stuff is the benchmark and it is all tested first then sold , and it works. now let me paint you a picture , a pilot has an xyz kit of an F16 and he wants the best rudder system available , the plane was not designed to have BVM 's system but he fits it . at a show he flys and has a big problem crashes and hurts a spectator, (god forbid ) , if you were bvm would you want your parts on someone else's product that caused the crash and be held liable for the legal process afterwoods ? i think not. and I for one don't blame Bob for one minute for refusing to sell the parts to jettsett. Now I also know that the kit in question is an Aviation Design F16 for which I am the sole importer. the airplane was designed in Europe to operate without a rudder as their rules imply none is required. here the AMA stipulates that the turbine powered aircraft must have a rudder. so you have to cut , shut and design the linkage for yourself, it is pretty easy for any 1/2 experienced builder you don't need to involve Mr. Violett to do your work for you. and in closing all you guys out there who have nothing better to do , if you can't say something nice , keep your opinions to yourself. happy landings,
