I hope they got it right, I know they've been working on structural re-designs for a long time. Sure is an awesome beast though!!!

Up to 800 passengers in one aircraft ... cool - now I can spend 2 hours waiting to board, and 2 hours waiting in line to get off the airplane after it arrives at its destination. [:o]

most airlines will do about 500 seats in luxary, but if you do stack seats, row, by row, it can fit
900+ I think most airlines will do that in about 10-15 years.

There should be a limit. what if a A380 with 900 passengers crashes:eek:?

Going to require all new ground handling facilities - eight upper and lower level jetways, (Let's see if they can do a Southwest airlines 10 minute turn! :D)...

If you throw 800+ passengers into an airport in a single shot, it will REALLY cause some problems in today's facilites. To keep passenger flow comparable to what it is today, luggage handling, passenger service and conveyence on the ground will need to be beefed up... Security screening will have to be doubled... going to need massive pax holding areas and increased departure gate facilities..

Reckon they discussed these "details" with airlines and airports... Seems the airports would have to start making aiprort improvements YESTERDAY to accomodate the airplane, which will likely be certified in 18-24 months.... But those improvements depend on who's gonna buy it and where are they gonna fly it? Things that make you go hmm...

Check out the list of buyers, then look at the NOTAMS for their major hubs. You'll find work has already begun, other major apts are not far behind.

That's not going to happen. You can only get about 150 averaged sized americans on a A380.

one of the channels, discovery or tlc, but one of them had a segment on this plane the other nite, showing off the inside of this plane, very nice, they also said, Fed-Ex ordered 8 of them already. and they showed the ordeal on how they were made, all the pieces made in different locations then assembled in one big hanger, even showed how they transport the pieces thru town, and how the towns people get all excited about the parts going thru town, interesting to see how they did that

SIA will take "fat" bus home in early 2006 and be first operator to this type!
Let see what is the coming test results (over-fat, blood pressure.....
Maybe worth a look first in due after my last experience C-5 was here to deliver some.....here.

Our National paper run a headline of this air "city" today, it have a lift on the rear from lower deck to upper deck!

Best thing for me about Airbus products is you end up with most of your hearing still intact after a long flight. They do know how to make quiet airplanes. Also a lot quieter on the ground than them Boeings. The real numbers for the A380 seem to indicate that with the same passenger volume you only need half the flights, considerably easing the strain in terms of safety of existing infratructure.

why is there so much negative comments about the A380? pls stop cursing it if you do not like it, eg saying it would crash. It is not nice. If you do not like it, so be it, but pls do not say anything about crashing.

That is one big horrible jetliner, but still a masterpeice.
