RE: Kangaroo questions

Hi Fabio, you can start with 95mm ahead the wing tube, and roos where flown between 6Kg thru
15 Kg... I guess that mine was kind of a record, years ago with a turbomin, 3.5 liters of fuel and
some lead to put the CG at a reasonable place... and still landed like a butterfly!

RE: Kangaroo questions

I'm building the composite roo. The hinges seem stiff.
I've exercised the, but they still seem hard to move.
Any way to loosen them up?

RE: Kangaroo questions

Seems that the live skin hinges are always stiffer that the standard ones, but as far as I know, a
high torque servo didn´t notice it at all. I think that you didn´t have a problem.

Enrique.

Hi All,

I need rebuild my Roo. But I do not have the plans and I cannot identify with precision the positions of the wing tube and the landing gear (strut). The drawing that I made, somebody I could help me with the measures?

Thanks.

Fabio

RE: Kangaroo questions

medjets,

You missed one key measurement on the wing tube. The tube is not centered in the fuse root top to bottom... so you will also need this measurement.

Question, how did you manage too lose these reference points... especially on both sides of the fuse. Must be one heck of a rebuild job.

Hi Countryboy,

Yes... I know that the tube is not centered, but forgot to place in the drawing. I am rebuild, therefore this jet had a small accident and the builder in the first time caused some errors. [:o]

Any one of this forum that has a jet this can measure and inform me?

I would happy for the reply!

Thanks

Fabio

PS. sorry my bad english

RE: Kangaroo questions

Fabio,

OK, measuring back from the leading edge of the fuse root section to the center of the wing tube, I measure 273mm. The same measured from the back pointed edge on the fuse root measures out at 330mm. The distance from the center of the tube too the top of the fuse measured out at 17mm. The distance from the center of the wing tube to the center of the retract strut measures out at 87mm.

One interesting note, I was able to get the exact same measurement on both sides when measuring from the pointed ends at the back of the fuse to the center of the wing tube, but had a 4mm difference side to side when measuring from the leading edge... the left side being the longer of the two. You don't notice this unless the wings are butted up to the fuse with the fins removed.
