Jetcat 4.0 ecu question

Just received an upgraded ecu from Jetcat USA on Friday. Installed it back in my jet and noticed the default rpm setting is 117k and not 120k like the other ecu I had upgraded a few months ago?? Should I reset it back up to 120k?? or leave it at 117, anyone know the thrust loss in that 3k?? Matt C. are you out there.

Thanks,
Vin...

4.0 ECU

Vin,
Reset the Ecu to 120K and also recalibrate the temp probe.
The procedure is spelled out on JET CAT USA's web site.

4.0 ecu

Nat,

Forgot to mention the 120 went in for service with the ecu, should not have to calibrate the temp probe??

Jetcat 4.0 ecu question

Vin,

It takes about 2 minutes to calibrate the temperature probe. Even though it went in for service it would be cheap insurance just to make sure. Both of the new ECU's I got for my 120's were set at 117K rpm. There is a chart on the JetCat USA website that shows thrust to rpm.

Jetcat 4.0 ecu question

Why are the new ones set at 117000 rpm. Pushing up the the rpms to 120000 void the warranty by any chance??? I have a new one and it is set at 117000.

mr_matt 09-16-2002 02:31 AM

Hi Burt

Vin was talking about a P-120, it is rated at 120K RPM at full power. Noy sure why Bob is shipping them set to a lower limit.

117K is standard RPM for a p-80

Guys in the market should check this, I have looked at some of the competition and they seem to run very high RPM for full power much like the RAM 1000 did....beware!!

4.0 ecu

Matt,

Yes I was speaking about the P-120. Also this ecu was upgraded to 4.0 several months ago but on the current Invoice it says the the ecu software was upgraded (again). Is there a newer version now??

Vin...

Hi Vin

I think the P-80 is rev G and P-120 is rev H

Matt my p120 came set at 117000. I will change it

Bob_Wilcox 09-17-2002 05:01 PM

120K is normal for a P120

The ECU default is 117K for P120. Why, I don't know. We set them all to 120K when I run them on the stand for maximum power.

If you buy just an ECU, you will need to set it up to 120K for maximum power.

Whoa!

How in the hell do you have time to be typing on the internet!!

Once in a while I have time to look at RCU.

Very busy and a nasty head cold. Oh what fun!

I think there would be some sort of International law against cloneing me. What a thought!
