FUEL QUESTION
Can someone tell me the difference between #1 fuel oil and 1-K kerosene?
A local gas station has #1 fuel oil (kero) with a sign that says "Not suitable for unvented home heaters requiring 1-K kerosene". It is also dyed. $1.89/gal. Maybe some expert can point out the differences between the various kero oils, diesel, etc... |

RE: FUEL QUESTION
I'm no expert but have a look at the shell data sheet on Kerosene. This may answer your question

RE: FUEL QUESTION
There are several gas stations in this area which have kerosene pumps but they all specify K-1 grade on the pump.

RE: FUEL QUESTION
Thanks guys, I'll keep looking. I guess the main difference is sulphur content. Could also cause some acid corrosion I guess.
