HAWG or Eagle?????

Wow, just weighed my Avonds F-15 and I guess between the Pegasus SP, full cockpit, flaps, speed brake, gear doors, etc, the overall weight is

I'm embarrased to say

28 lbs dry That doesn't even include the wing tanks and pylons.

Does anyone have any experience flying a heavy Eagle?????

You'll be just fine. Especially with that powerplant. My first Yellow F-15 was that weight wet. I first flew it on a P-80. It was sluggish climbing out, but once up, it was nice. That Eagle will fly alright at practically twice that wieght.....

Mike,
We have a Skymaster F-15 with MW-54, a small 12lb turbine, not high perform but no problem. The Yellow, Skymaster, & Avonds all about the similar size F-15s. As Shaun said, you shouldn't have problem for your 28lb. F-15 with a 35lb Pegasus SP.

Mike,

Drop me a line when you get a chance. I guess the weight is ok provided you have the runway for it. Mine is in at 23 w/P120.

Sean, when we go to Lumberton to fly it, we may need you and a hefty buddy to show up to help us get it into and out of Mike's SUV. I don't wanna hurt my back.

(just kidding Mike)

Mine was 21 pounds dry (Ram 1000) stabs only, lights, smoke, wheel brakes, airbrake, full cockpit, center fuel tank. With full fuel it was 27 pounds......Was one of the best flying Jets I've had.

But for the boudin and beer I drank in Louisianna in my younger years, I'd be as fit as Mike ;)

Wocket, I found a portable fork lift you can use to get it out of Mikes truck on ebay for a couple hundred bucks, the good news is, you can also use it to lift Mike off the ground after he faints from seeing his three year project finnally go airborn!

I sold it to a guy in PA, he smacked it up good at Liberty Bell 2004.
