I saw BV fly one at the old PGRC field in 1979-1980 @ one of the first pylon racing events I ever went to. Once I saw it fly I knew that is what I wanted to be able to fly once I had some stick time. It had a K+B pylon motor and it flew good. With all of the modern engines now I bet it fly great.

I used to have one with an O.S. 65 in it. It always lacked a bit of power.

This A 4 if it is built right and has a good .65 to .91 engine - will easily go 175+ mph . Ask me how I know. Make sure you have flaps - slows the landing speed down a good 20 mph .
Build it - fly it - have fun.

it has flaps, inflight fuel mixture, retracts, digital servos all around the horn, dynamax with a bransy new os.91,this was the kit where they give you the glass parts and templates on like a decal sheet for all other!what a bear too build!!! i also have a os.77,actually i have this in the 4-sale ads, never enough time too finish! the dorsal avionics hatch was built by me,had to cover the big head on the .91,i made a foam plug and then layed up several layers of glass cloth .

other then me and a friend of mine,no one fly's these dinosaurs any more,i bet its been 10yrs. since i seen a df at the local field! last yr. i flew a starfire, and my bud had a bp regal eagle,i started this in the fall and he's doing a jhh f-86,i have too admit i'm losing interest, too much crap too worry about!+i do'nt like all the shaking going on! these things shake rattle and roll! but their still a blast!!! i was going to try and convert it to edf,but by the time i spend the$$$ for lith batts and edf unit,bl motor,i'd be better off putting it torwards a turbine!yeah right! maybe in a few years when the $ comes down!

This aircraft is and always was a great design. It is now the property of Jet Hangar Hobby. I have had 3 of these starting with Turbax/ K & B 7.5 in the first. Dynamax/ OS 77 in the second. I am converting my third to turbine / Wren 44. The planform with the modified delta and stabilizer makes it one of my favorite flying planes. The big fin/rudder keeps it straight as an arrow. One word of caution, I lost my second on to aileron flutter. The single servo with belcranks has got to go. Cut in a servo for each surface and you'll be good. Keep the weight down and you will have a great flying jet. I flew of tarmac and grass with slightly longer run on latter. Keep us posted DB
