Grumania Eurofighter.

1 Attachment(s)
Gents.

I have just finished and test flown my Grumania Eurofighter.

Have to say it flys really really well.

It is fitted with Wren54 MK3 I use onboard manual start.

I am very impressed with grass field operation and slow landing speed.

The plane has not been weighed but i can takeoff, level at about 5ft for 1 -2 seconds and then pull a 500 ft loop :)

Sits well in the air, it is not wishy washy like other Euro's i have seen.

I have only had 3 flight with her but i am looking forward to the next.

All in all a nice model to fly.

Sorry about the guy holding the model:eek:

GrayUK, glad to see that it flies well. There were a few threads recently with questions about the Grumania Eurofighter

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_26...tm.htm#2656495

Have you got any photo's of the build, any comments on the quality of the kit and how it was to build etc?

I am sure there are a few people reading RCU that would like to know a bit more about this kit as I for one am very interested?

Thanks

Greg

Where can this model be purchased by us Colonists?
Thanks, Bob

www.grumania.de is their website. You will have to order it direct from the German manufacturer I think.

Not sure about 75 pages...but who knows?

Flew another 4 flights today, slowly getting it how i like it.

I can tell you know, with a Wren54 MK3 this plane is balistic, almost endless vertical performance.

Did some spin tests today, you have to force it in, but spins well with crisp recovery.

A very nice plane/engine combination.

Just one question, how much is he "scale"??

it seems to me that the proportion, in some way, are not like the real one..

GrayUK 05-01-2005 02:10 PM

RE: Grumania Eurofighter.

Yes i agree, this is not absolute scale, it looks good though;)

Grumania simply decided to fine tune the original design to improve overall performance. So, indeed, slight proportion differences might be real. You may soon see mods on the real one, even perhaps a II version of the eurofighter.[sm=bananahead.gif]

Paul, are you trying to sell Wren 54 MK3 engines? Or are you trying to sell the plane?:D:D

Sorry, couldn't help wondering:D

Oh, by the way. Nice aircraft. I'm sure it flies great on any 16-18 lbs engine[8D]

Good luck with it. ;)

Paul

You don't seem to have a top hatch. How do you start your manual start Wren?

John

GrayUK 05-03-2005 07:10 AM

RE: Grumania Eurofighter.

No, i am not trying to sell either of then, just stating facts;)

The hatch is on the bottom of the fus.

This is a manual start but with on board electric starter.

Flew the T**s off it again this weekend, it is a real pleasure to fly.

May have a video coming as well:D

Paul,

Cant wait to see the Video. Have you got the detailed pictures showing installation etc?

Any more comments on the quality of the kit, what is the fuse moulding like, are the formers an accurate fit, does the kit include all the mounting hardware for the wings, are canard mountings/bearings included, what retracts did you use, are the instructions good?

Sorry for all the questions but I am very interested in the kit and want to get as much info as I can;)

Are you using the canards on your Eurofighter?

Thanks

Greg

RE: Grumania Eurofighter.

Gents

The video is out of my hands.
I have to wait untill the guy who took it sends me a copy.

With regards to the kit.

General quality is good, not to the standard of a Savex (this is not ARTF), but certainly very acceptable.

Formers fit well.

Elevons are pre hinged.

Instructions are more than adequate.

CG position is actually moulded into the fus moulding ;)

Retracts i used are the ones supplied by grumania, they are ecellent quality, very sturdy. The legs are alos from the same company.
The legs are very nice with trailing link nose wheel.

Kit comes with all neccesary wing fixing ie. wing spar!
All other fittings, for controls etc. you supply.

Canard has neccesary control linkages.

I will try to get some photo's together.

Sorry guys, the chap who videoed it has just e mailed me for my address to send it to me. When it arives i will ask for someone to host it for me.

Flew the hell out of it again yesterday, any defects in scale is made up for by flying, itsw great. :D

Hi Paul,
And I thought you was dead. It's so nice to see your as active as ever in jet modelling complete with that voluptuous figure of yours - always a looker!! I've missed doing the jet events especially Pampa; we always had a really good time when the forces of the North and South joined up to party - and my God do you know how to party!!! Very nice looking jet you've got there - keep in touch.

RE: Grumania Eurofighter.

Hello Jeff
Fancy meeting you here[:-]

Yes i remember those days, all a bit older now, much quieter without you though:)

Eurofighter bit me today!

I had it at very high Alpha, stationary in all axis.

I was cross wind at about 50 ft, the wind actually blew it over, as it went it flicked over and was suddenly nose down with power on[X(]

I was unable to clear the ground but managed to get it level and cut engine before it pancaked onto the grass.
It was damaged but basically in one piece:)
I am afraid it will need some servicing before it flys again.

This is one hell of a strong model!
