I'm trying to get a feel as to how much interest there would be for a large sport jet in the 30 to 40lb thrust range. As some of you are aware, Eddie Lozano has designed a very nice, large scale sport jet simply called the BSJ (Big Sport Jet). We are trying to establish how much interest there would be in bringing this aircraft to the market. This would be a full composite airframe utilizing standard robart gear weighing in at roughly 28-30lbs rtf less fuel.
How many of you would be interested in a sport jet of this scale??

I think it would sell like hotcakes :)

Anything that looks like a Bandit with a reasonable price tag wil sell great.

I saw this airplane fly at Fl. Jets and I like it a lot. I tried to get a MegaBar out of Eddie Weeks (he's not off the hook yet as I'll see him next week ;) ) But ya, I loved what I saw. The wings are really big on this bird and will require a lot of kit type building, but all the composite work was excellent. Throw a number out? I don't know, I'd pay about the same for that airplane as current pricing on the Isobar. It's bigger and will fly the same envelope, the fiberglass tank fit in Eddie's was nice!

I think it is a great market for a big Sport Jet for the new powerful engines that has hit the market lately.

Here's a few features I would greatly appreciate if I was to buy a big Sport Jet.

* Big and with low wing loading.
* Docile handling and slow landings for short fields and grass strips
* Would have to be equally happy inverted as well as upright and able to fly the normal aerobatic maneuvers as well as knife edge without too much ail and elev input
* Retracts located in the fuse or center section of the wing (3 pcs.) for easy assembly at the field as well as easy to move around and to store.
* BIG hatches for great access for big hands to engine, tanks and the rest of the equipment.
* Large fuel capacity for long flights (5-6 liters).

In addition I would like it to be highly pre-fabricated (I'm lazy) and be able to take almost anything I could throw at it without falling apart.
So far I haven't found a plane that has all these features, but closest match at present time would be a King Cat or the new C-ARF Lightning which looks very promising.

But I have time to wait for a perfect plane as my enthusiasm for RC are rather low these days....[&o]

Todd,

I think that a large sport jet would do very well. Considering the amount of Kingcats that are flying it seems that big jets are selling good. The key would be pricing and of course making the jet circuit to enable potential buyers to see the jet in action.

I would buy one if the fuselage would fit into my Grand Cherokee. It would be a good idea to have the option of splitting the fuselage into two pieces to help with transportation.

The Bandit this mould was pulled from must of had 150 coats of paint on it.........looks good!.
