Hey,
I'm sorry I haven't been online or answering calls/emails this weekend--but I have a REALLY GOOD excuse! Take a look at the little gift my wife sprung for! Shaun T. Evans, Jr. 7 pounds exactly 19.5" long born 12:38 a.m. May 15th. Happy, healthy and hung like a cape buffalo (all the important stuff.....)! But seriously though, thanks very much for the good wishes and words of encouragement, advice and congratulations along the way. You guys were right--this changes everything...... |
RE: Newest RC Guy

RE: Newest RC Guy
Congrats!!! Got him flying yet? [>:]:D
Get some sleep - you're gonna need it! ;) |
RE: Newest RC Guy
Congratz, well done!
I am the owner/operator of a three and a half year old girl...I THOUGHT I wanted a boy, I was wrong. She likes flying sleek streeks and skeeters, she is nuts about airplanes, she is currently playing with her models of the X-4 and X-5, the likes the X-4 better. Get used to no sleep, and just shut up and take it. Learn to suffer, NEVER complain about ANYTHING, find whatever reserve of patience you can, always, and remember it's MUCH harder on the woman than you. You have it easy! Good luck! Hope you can get back to modelling in a few years! |
RE: Newest RC Guy
So... if thats not his umbilical cord, then he can be an RC JET guy and a PORN STAR, that will be a good combo and make for good conversation at the field, CONGRATS!.

RE: Newest RC Guy
How, exactly, do you know so much about cape buffaloes? That's just weird.
|
RE: Newest RC Guy
Congratulations Shaun... This is going to be the greatest flight of all.:D
Michel... |
RE: Newest RC Guy
Check his formers. Make sure they are deep and thick enough.
Congratulations Shaun (and little Shaun)!!!! |
RE: Newest RC Guy
The first 6 months seems to last for 20 years....but the next 19.5 years seem to go by in 6 months!!! Enjoy every minute of it: stepping on lego blocks at 2 in the morning, watching reruns of SpongeBob; getting very knowledgable on the entire line of FisherPrice products.....and making the Pampers top 10 customer list!

RE: Newest RC Guy
Hi Shaun,
Congrats bro on the new induction into the family. I can bet you did not get the complete package from the hospital. And guess what's missing, the teeth, hehe :D. On a serious note though, congrats once again to you and your family. Nothing like being the parent of a child that does not let you sleep for the first 6 months. Your purchasing habbits are going to change too. Instead of epoxy and paint, you are now going to buy pampers, milk, sutffed toys, baby furniture and stuff like that. Irfan. |
RE: Newest RC Guy
Congrats Shaun!!!
Welcome to the world of fatherhood... You have no idea how much they change your life, mostly for the better although sleep and hobby time become nonexistent ;) One word of advice, if you have problems with colic, get a miracle blanket!!! Warmest regards to the family, Todd |
RE: Newest RC Guy
My only other advice(and I am definitely in the "high experten", ace-of-aces class of raising children, like Erich Hartmann, as my kid is just so perfect) is that a LOT of the stuff you THINK you need and spend a small fortune on is...
NOT NEEDED. Be careful how you spend. Be a womanly cheapskate. Don't be like I did and buy one of everything, because it turns out that people DID manage to raise children, somehow, before all these plastic objects that people nowadays say you "must" have. Beware of things that cost $69.95 and are outgrown in 3 months. I am right now looking at a crib, top of the line, that cost me over $750 with all the trimmings, and if it had a Hobbs Meter on it, it would read ZERO hours. Zero. Never used. And yet, it has been clogging up a corner of my apartment for threee and one half years. And you cannot sell it for diddly. Nobody needs this stuff. I have a basement closet FULL of unused baby stuff that costs thousands. That money would have been better used for college funds. You need a mommy and a daddy, or as close as you can get to that, and smarts, and love, not stuff. There are certain things that can REALLY help sometimes(don't know what a miracle blanket is, but if it helped Todd, go for it, by all means) like Tylenol(a modern miracle), pacifiers, that kind of thing, but beware you find yourself surrounded by useless "stuff"(543 stuffed animals, weird swings that make music, etc,), what the baby really needs most is just YOU. |
RE: Newest RC Guy
Congrats to you Shaun and to your wife! Welcome to the club. being a father is an awesom feeling!!!

Congrats Bro! You were right, he does look like his mother!
I will see you in a few years when you have a free minute. Or we can get together and my oldest can start teaching little Shaun about the world of R/C Jets...:D Best wishes from my family to yours, you did good. |
RE: Newest RC Guy
The first prerequisite to parenthood is a solid imaging platform. Video cameras are not still cameras and, Kenny, a cell phone should never be pointed at a child to capture images for posterity. Shame on you;)

RE: Newest RC Guy
Thanks, Guys!
It's a trip. I never thought I could spend so much time holding, staring at, cooing at, kissing on and singing to something that wasn't a new JetCat Titan. Counting my blessings every moment...... Matt, Your boy looks like Kevin Spacey in that pic! |
