A-10 Help
Hello to all,
Need Some help on deciding on a great set of plans for an A-10 ducted fan kit that is made for a .45 size engine , I'm starting to believe Mike Beaulieu's plan's are the only ones available and are probably my best choice, any input on picking a set of plans would be helpful...Also how can I go from the plans of the wood fuselage to a fiberglass or plastic fuselage, any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanx Ty |
RE: A-10 Help
I have a set of plans for 2 45-50 size engines.
It spans about 69 inches and the about the same in length. Dont know from who they are but they are pretty good. As far as fiberglass you need to build a plug and mold which is alot of work. You could always build up the wood fuse then glass it and primer to use as a plug for a mold. |
RE: A-10 Help
George Miller A-10 is by far the OOOOOONNNNNNLY one that is bad to the bone. Will fly with turbax' 48's. 80-some inch winspan. check a post by flypuck here in the scratchbuilding section, hes doing one now.

RE: A-10 Help
I'm also building a George Miller A-10. The link to my post is below. The plans have some problems, but nothing that can't be worked out. Also, the outfit that laser-cut the ribs and formers for me has made corrections to the plans. Feel free to e-mail me for more info.

RE: A-10 Help
I believe the plans Shok is referencing are from Nexus.
http://www.uknets.co.uk/rcplansguide/nexus.htm You'll have to scroll down on the right to plans part and look for the directory or just type A-10 plans in the search bar. Kit Cutters cuts the kit as well. You can get the kit in all sorts of ways such as fuse only, wing only, full, semi. I think the full is $230 or so. I thought about getting one. I just checked and says all kits ordered this month will be delivered in October. Looks like they are in the process of going to laser cutting from CNC stuff. www.kitcutters.com How are the plans, Shok? Are they pretty scale? I've never seen a pic of the plane other than the one on the Nexus site. Hope this helps. Will |
RE: A-10 Help
the plans are actually really nice and looks close to scale.
I'll look them over to see if there is a name on them |
