Hey, David. Dino is not in the habit of randomly dorking planes. He REALLY is a great pilot. Honest!

Superman Su 35 Loss
I was sad to hear about the crash of the AD SU 35 , I dont know many details but does anyone know if the rudder fluddered off? as I heard ?, Ive had this plane on my list and wish to find out more about it thanks,

Sukhoi Crash
I saw it go in, and my observation was that the rudder was very definitely fluttering. I did not see it come off, and I don't think it did. Of course it is possible that it came off and I missed it.
Anyway, it looked to me as though the pilot was being overly cautious, flying too slow, after the flutter and simple stalled the plane. Or maybe the engine quit, at any rate it was going way too slow and just fell out of the sky. |
gryphon
Did the Gryphon fly?

Thanks Brian for the info...

Dave,
[email protected] The SU 27 shed both of its rudders on a upwind pass straight up the runway. THe right vertical was fluttering violently and then to add insult to injury the right engine flamed as it was slowed down for landing, the plane spun in. |

I would like to have thought that just maybe you were a little more sensitive to somebody's feelings than this. But if you are going to insist upon pushing the pilot error insinuation, you should at least have your facts straight. I have attended every jet meet that Dean has and can say without doubt that Dean has never even heard of Winamac, let alone gone there much less had radio trouble there. So how could he have cried wolf there?
Dean stated his peace, and for the most part left his opinion out of it, and made no snide remarks or accusations. But hey he only has 6 Top Gun trophies for dorking airplanes right? Not for being a decent person, and a great pilot. Jim |

Shalish's F-86
Turbulence,
Yes, Shalish did fly his F-86! It was stunning to say the least. He flew it during the manufacturer's demo time during lunch to demonstrate the AMT turbine. He had the sky to himself and put on a heck of a show! The plane really glistened in the cloudless sky. Shalish is a first class fellow that can build one heck of a nice plane. I wonder why Shalish hasn't competed in Top-Gun with it?!? I'm going to build a Trim Aircraft F-86 and finish it like his. I hope that mine turns out as well as his. I really picked his brain concerning the finish and his techniques. We'll see!!! Kevin |

Hello all, just got back last evening from Superman and had a great time seeing everyone and meeting new Friends. Was there from Mon evening till Sun afternoon. Got six good flights on the F-20 [Mach2Jets] and there seemed to be a lot of interest in it. Any through or comments would be welcomed. looking forward to seeing everyone again next year. Ken
