I have decided to start a seperate thread on my F-14 Tomcat which I will be taking to the World Jet Masters because as usual, I have a bit of a story to tell.

A functional gun camera from Microtex Camera.
The camera has up to two miles range and is full color with audio and GPS overlay which is downloading barometric altimeter, airspeed, and altitude data to the monitor along with color image which switches to black and white in low light automatically and infared at night. As on the full size....................... |

Thanks guys, we all appreciate your support.
Kenny..................F-14 is still only about 90% complete............lots more scale detail ahead, gotta get some rivets on that camera pod, Phoenix pallets. Finish painting and detailing missiles, gear doors, cockpit/pilots, antennas/probes, inlet ramps and various odds and ends around the jet. Estimate 100 more hours. ;) Matt...............still working on 14MZ issue............right now literally using 14 channels. Worst case scenerio, back to my trust old JR 10X.[8D][/b] |

Right now the F-14 stats are.
Starting from the nose................... Functional: Camera pod with GPS Air to Air refueling probe Canopy with cockpit gauge lights Ejection seats with scale parachutes Navigation, Landing and strobe lights Inlet ramps Slats,Spoilers, Flaps Wing Sweep Droptanks (they hold 16oz fuel each.) "Tarps Pod" (for in-flight high res still shots.) Speed Brakes Tailerons Rudders Tailhook Gear/Wheel Brakes Afterburner Light Rings The jet weighs 34 lbs full of fuel with all hardpoints mounted. Carrying 1 Gallon of Jet A Two Artes Superbees at 14 1/2 lbs of thrust each blowing through two "thrust tubes" from Goldenwest giving approximately 1 1/2 lbs more thrust each side and out two stainless steel cones from Tam. |

Approximately 5 years ago, I built a helicopter that took me a little over 8 months to complete.
Most in the local area simply called this bird "The Coast Guard." |

So with the F-14 it was only natural that I would try to find the nearest active Navy base to do my first flight.
