Is this landing SCALE or R/C?

I'm not sure if this link will work, but can anyone tell me if this was the landing of a scale aircraft or an r/c one? I would hate to have been a passenger on this flight, but my honest guess is that this is an r/c aircraft. However, r/c jets don't smoke at the tires like this on touchdown, but that could have been computer generated, you never know these days. Anyone care to chime in on this one? Regards to all...

Richie

I cant believe that is a real landing....no way....it would have broken to bits :)

Ever see theDC-9, MD-80 or 90 whatever that made a pretty smoothe, but fast landing where the tail broke off ?

My guess is neither--I think it's manufactured from footage of a real landing.

First, you're not going to smoke the nosewheel three times. After the first bounce the wheels will be spun up.

Second, I've never seen a model smoke the tires. Ever.

Third, the dynamics are totally off for full-scale. I think the de-rotation after the first two bounces is physically impossible.

Its real footage but the bounce was made in editing.

I'm not sure, but I don't think that the Cougar had an ejection seat...

im not on the side of it being a full scale, but about the nose wheel smoking three times,

this sounds dumb, but just hypothetical, Do you think having the parking brake on before landing would cause this?

im just curious,

Scott

The F9F -6 normally had them. this is an early deployment of the Cougar, did you notice the "Clear deck" , an old straight deck, maybe 1954/55 .I believe the V on the tail is from the USS Benington..

It's phony. It was a European TV commercial, though I can't remember what product it was for.
