High visibility scheme
1 Attachment(s)
Took some pics of the jm1 and the roo today.. this was the best visibility paint scheme I had in any airplane, so I done it again in my overhauled roo. (they work great at dusk, when the wind is over but the ilumination is almost over too!) This is simple automotive paint with plotter cut vinyl
graphics and a glossy cote.... cheap and durable. BR, Enrique. |
RE: High visibility scheme
Looking good Enrique.
Only thought is that the rudder linkage setup in that second picture looks a little lightweight. I think you will certainly get some blow back with that setup. Rgds, mark |
RE: High visibility scheme
Thx Mark, Well. about the rudder setup that's a 4-40 rod with a heavy duty ball link and a grossly
oversized torque servo... many flights on it and no problems until now... Best regards, Enrique |
RE: High visibility scheme
Hi Enripue,
it's swing wings!:) Does the XL LE help, where small up/dn elev is needed? can it go very slow before stall! because over design seem to me meant for it. Any video? B Regards Albert |
RE: High visibility scheme
Hello Albert, you are right, the wings look a little like a F-111 or a mig 23, but I didn't installed on it afterburners, so the wing swing mechanism was glued on the open position, ;)
I am afraid that I didn't understood your question about the up/down elevator, but I can tell you that this plane is next to impossible to snap or tip stall, so seems that the LEX are working,, you could also turn this plane in a very short radius curve without any fear... the bad part of this history is that the plane is not mine anymore! that' s what happens when you show off too much at your friends! LOL ... some people has filmed it flying, as soon someone of them send me a copy, I will post it... Best Regards, Enrique |
RE: High visibility scheme
"I am afraid that I didn't understood your question about the up/down elevat"
Sorry! maybe just too early morning here when my brain couldnt form the question right.[:-] Just wonder with such a LEX, probably you need very narrow travels for both elevators up and down movement. Just like F18, we dont need large elev travel to pitch around due to the similiar LEX. Hope this make some sense to u!:) B regards |
RE: High visibility scheme
Nope... the elevator travel and response is normal, pretty much like a pattern plane. to be more precise, the "feel" of the airplane on the pitch axis is soft, but responsive if you crank it up...this plane was the easiest to fly that I ever had.
Best regards, Enrique. |
RE: High visibility scheme
A young man sent me a low res video of the jm1... this is the only movie available of it so far,
seems that he found more interesting the spooling up of the turbine than the flying! lol. http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=MOV04823 BR, Enrique |
