Composite BobCat : flap/elevator mix ???

ON the king cat, the instructions specified how much elevator mix to add to the flaps for level trim with flaps down. The bobcat instructions do not mention this .... does the planes pitch trim not change with flap deflection ? and if it does, how much elevator trim would be a good ballpark to start with ? im about to maiden this thing ...

thanks guys...

Yes it does, about 1/4" full flap.

What engine are you using?
How did your CG end up with what batteries placed where?
Mine drives around like a gocart at idle. The gear have absolutely no resistance.

RE: Composite BobCat : flap/elevator mix ???

i have a new P120 on it .. i also have the cockpit kit, and that added enough weight up front to make the plane nose heavy even with the 2 4000mah duralight packs under the rear of the electronics tray, it was still nose heavy .. i ended up adding around 3oz of lead to the elevator for exact balance as per the marked CG dots on the booms ... I taxied it around in front of the house, and at idle it wants to move, the gear is very smooth. I also have a pitot tube speed limiter on it .. I know the p70 bobcats can and have hit over 240mph, so the P120 needs a muzzle on it :D, because hell no am i ever going to be detining any engine ;)

I guess it being lighter also contributes to it rolling around at idle also.
Good luck on maiden. My maiden was so uneventful I handed it to 2 other people to fly. Lands like a dream. The easiest airplane yet to fly and land.

I downloaded the program from the website and it was perfect on the flap to Elevator mix.
I have my Duralites in front of the nose gear and had to add 3 oz to the nose. My model was a painted version.
Once I installed my cockpit with Pilot I removed the nose weight trim changed two clicks to the down side.
This a sweet flyer on a P70..........P120 unreal vertical!!!!

I went back and measured and its just slightly over a 1/4" up elevator trim with flaps full down.

Hi to all lucky new-BobCat owners
here are pics from my new composite BC. Built in one week !!
I built in 4 years 19 jets (including BVM F-100), but this composite BC-kit is the best I ever had!
Virgin will be next few days.
