There is an aftermarket rod made by RPM. Don't know where to find it. I had one, seemed to cure the problem. I have only had one 77, and it had the replacement rod, but what I have HEARD is that not all the 77s had the rod problem, only the early ones.

Hi,
There was a problem with the rods if you were running a dynamax or ramtec fan, higher RPM'S than a byron fan. I don't think there was a problem w/ the rods using a Byron set-up. I got a replacement rod MANY years ago from a company called RPM, but I'm pretty sure he's quit making rods. The DF guys would know for sure. Regards, Jon |

The 77 I had came from Job, the same one! It ran just fine, and had very nearly the same power as the 91. I was surprised.
