source for paint masks?
 

Can anyone recommend a good place to order custom paint masks for large stars and bars, lettering, etc.?

I have gone to places that specialize in vinyl markings (Graphics) for autos. You can bring your own computer file or have them scan them in. Best of all you may get it done while you wait. Some places have regular paint mask material...I just used the cut vinyl and it worked fine.

If the quotes you get for having custom paintmasks made is kinda high, another option you may want to consider is buying yourself a small (12 or 15") Roland Stika machine - you can buy paintmask rolls to feed through the machine, just as you would feed vinyl through for making regular stickers.

The dark stars and bars were done by the vinyl method I described. The lighter one was a decal from ProMark. I paid about 2.00 for each paint mask. I even used vinyl paint masks for the crew blocks too, but I had to go back and fill in the center of the A's, O's etc by hand.
