does anyone know where I can get a image file of good quality for the Canadian Air Force F-18 scheme? (including the "leaf" roundels)

You might be able to find something here. I had ordered an set of CF-18 decals from this guy and was very impressed with his service.

The LEM sheet in 1:48 scale is good to start with. Depends on the scheme you have chosen, it might be available from LEM. You also might want to get the book "Canadian Military Aircraft, Finish and Markings 1968-2004" by Patric Martin from Aviation World Canada. All different eras have been explaned there.

For my CF-18, I bought some LEM doc sheets and scanned them. Then scaled to the size I needed. Then using CAD traced the items I needed and took to vinyl cutter for masks.

For a image of the Canada logo in your first post, do a search for Industry Canada logos and you will find them. I have them in high res tiffs somewhere on my home pc.
