Cermark Viperjet

Does anyone have any info on the Cermark Viperjet. Most important is how does it land? I would be flying it with a P70 so it would be on the light side.

Any input would appreciated.

Gary

I had one and the plane flew good, I am not sure if a P-70 is going to be enough power, If your flying off Blacktop & have a long runway I guess It might work. As far as Landing, as long as you have the Flaps down it lands very well.

There is lots of Viper jet info here on RCU. One of the threads is called "return of the viper jet" and it has some new landing advice from Tam, the settings are noted on this thread too:

Miguel,
Keep it coming buddy.
My lastest Viper Jet I set up crow ailerons with full flap. She land really nice and slow. I don't need speed brake at all.
Imagine land the Viper Jet with power and Dave can grease her less than 300 feet at our county field. Before we had to use up all the runway.
You can see how our field look like from Super Hornet DVD.

I will get the surface throw for you this weeken. I'm very busy preparing for Superman Jet s week right now. Hope this saturday will take care it for you.

Saw this one flown by Tam at the Fresno Madera jet rally
dont think a P70 would do it justice but it flies very well with no vices whatsoever
Ideal for a first time jet

Gary, the viperjet is a great all around jet. Good slow speed and top speed characteristics. I have flown the vipejet with a P-80 and P-120. Although the P-80 was ample, you will wish you had more thrust when a Viperjet with a P-120 blows right by you. Most of the fun guys are having with this jet are with the high speed passes. She really scoots with a P-120. Although I think the P-70 will fly the viperjet, you will need a lot of runway for takeoff and will probably be at full throttle the majority of the flight. Also a P-70 will struggle with the weight of an additional smoke system and tank. This plane is very fun with a smoke system.

Viper Jet is alway been my favorite high speed performance sport jet. But it also can be fly slow enough for guys want to buy for first turbine jet.
Now with my new crow ailerons set up. I even enjoy it more. We can land her 300 feet runway every single time.
As for power. P-70 will fly it. But you won't have much fun as we have with P-120.
You won't go wrong with the Viper Jet. Many of us have log in hundreds of flights. Miguel did pretty good thread building the Viper Jet.
You will find plenty of support from Tamjets Demo Team and happy customer own the Viper Jet also will chime in with their support.

Thanks to Dave and Tam's experiment with crow on the Viperjet.
I finally took mine back out after a few months break....all reprogrammed with the crow aileron. I have been so used to flying in and having to nail it just right on the speed for the field here because I never put the speedbrake in.
Now with the crow this airplane is just absolutely marvelous on final approach and landing....I can't wait to go back out tomorrow provided the weather is still good. I think we may get one more day before the winds from Wilma start picking up.
It just feels perfect in the flare and keeps the nose up attitude....just SWEEEEEEET!

Anyway anyone thinking of getting the Viperjet or those that have them..the crow setup is just the ticket to dirty up the super clean airfoil for landing....I love it!:D
Cheers,
BC
