F-15 Eagle thread...

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,

As many of you know that i am currently in process of building half kit that gotfrom another RC fellow of Topgun F15 Ultra Eagle II.
When i got the kit all i got was one piece fiberglass fuselage and sport wing cores, now i have few more items but still far from completion, i have done work to fuselage mainly so far and pics below will show what i have done so far. I like to get all advices and help for all in DF jet world...

First thing i did when i started to work on this fuselage was to sand off main fuselage joint seam in the middle wrapped around whole fuselage, i used grit 80 for initial sanding and then grit 220 for finer sanding as seam thinned down to surface of fuselage, after this was done i went to exhaust nozzels were i could see lots of small chipes/cracks, i started to sand the glecoat there since it was bit shiney then i wanted for the glue to adhere, then i used med CA with accelator to build up on chipped apots and cracks, as all dried i sanded the build up to its shape with grit 220 and smoothed with fine 400 paper. I tokk few hrs on and off but results came out good and strong, actually i went through whole fuse and filled what i could by using this process except for the light step on top aft fuse, i will do that this glazing spot putty once i get it.

Couple days ago i got my engine, Byron fan and tune pipe with starter wond, as soon as i got it i strted to asseble fan shroud with engine carrage/mount and fan on the engine, i then placed whole assembly in the fuselage dry just see how it looks, pics will show you more thati did to model so far...

I wouldn't use the "Red" or "Green" glazing putty. They are bothe laquer based products and will keep on shrinking forever, Use Evercoat 400 polyester glazing putty. Mix it up ,put it on, and sand it out in 5 minutes. never shrinks and what you see is what you get, have fun.

Sammy,

You need to have Adobe reader to open that file. If you don't have a copy of this software on your computer. Download a free copy off the net

Hope this helps.

Steven
