Hi, I am new to jets and planes in general. I am moving from a Firebird II park flyer to either a prop or a D/F JET.

I want to know what i would need for a "KIT" like one from Electric Jet Factory.
I would need a controller which is about $50?
A motor which is about $80?
A battery about $50?
A charger about $70?

I dont know if i would need micro servos, so someone tell me or can i use regular servos? And i'm thinking of getting the Futaba 4-channel radio from www.towerhobbies.com for about $130

Oh and what would i need for a glow engine jet? like a Kyosho F-86 or something in that category. Tell me what i need to get a Kit to fly. I dont know much about building but i can build.

Why not call Robert Wagonner at EJF and ask him for the advice on his jets? He is very knowledgeable and will not steer you wrong

ok man, look, i had soo much discussions on whether i can fly or not. i had enought, i'm 18 and i live in coney island, i can fly the darn thing on the beach if your scared of me crashing. Just please tell me what i need for both electric and gas jets. Thank you,

Give me a break there was nothing slanderous in my response. The guy is trying to get in over his head and I suggested that maybe he get some advice......did I strike a nerve with him being young perhaps?

Firstly. All David suggested is that you talk to Electric Jet Factory about the correct jet and set up to get started. Nothing else.

Secondly. If all you've been flying is a Firebird II, I'd suggest you get some stick time on a 40 size trainer before attempting a prop jet let alone a ducted fan jet. They are three completely different animals!

Thirdly. Your prices for the base edf equipment are probably not far off. Again, talk to Electric Jet Factory about a good entry level EDF jet. Or try the ElectraJet from Hobby Horizon. Glow jet, the Kyosho F-86 doesn''t have that good a reputation, but I haven't seen one fly. It uses mini servos and a 4 channel radio.

Take you pick, but be ready for disapointment when it rolls over and does a header into the ground.

Have you been flying on simulator? Borrow one from a friend and find out how difficult it can be to fly any jet.

We're not questioning your ability, none of us know you, but are just giving you the advice that you requested.
