Weston Pipes

Has anyone out there had experience with the Weston D/F pipes?
If so, what do you think?
Also, does anyone have an E-Mail address for Weston U.K. ?

Thanks,

rcdoug

Weston pipes are by one definition"""SWEET""....I have one on my mig29...They are alot lighter than any other pipe out there, alot quieter and add a very noticeable increase in power/speed....hands down, you'll love them,my new YA F4 and Trim f86 will be getting them as well.take care

Do you need to use a bracket support like the longer turnaroud pipe that was originally used on the F-15?

Pipe is held on too engine with two springs.Pipe is short. So there
is no leverage involved to make pipe hang down.

The pipe is nice I must say, the only question I have, did anyone else pressure nipple blew off after the fifth flight?? Mine did and I know that there was a thread somewhere here on how to fix that, but I can't quite locate that thread. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have one on my MIG29 and 2 more jets i'm working on will get weston pipes too. They are awesome,This is the only bad thing I have noticed about the westons is the tap coming loose after a few flights, however all you have to do for your pressure tap is bring it to a local welding shop & have it brazed on,it will never come off again.I then went over it & jb welded around it just to be sure and keep any play out of it.The pressure tap hasnt budged at all ever since..I will do the same thing to my other 2 before even mounting them....its a sure quick fix

Weston Pipes

Hi
Guys read the thread on the pipes loosing the pressure tap,
Guys all you have to do is drop me an e-mail or give me a call anytime i am at your service as my company imports the pipes.
The most common reason the tap pulls out is the pressure line is left to whip around in the exhaust stream, this causes the line to work on the fitting and eventually pull it out as the aluminum is very thin walled.
The worst thing you can do is to try and repair it with JB weld, what happens is the solvent from the adhesive wicks into the pores of the aluminum and resides there then if you take it the pipe to a welding shop after you have applied the JB weld the welder strikes an arc and the solvent lights off this produces to great a heat and the aluminum melts away end of pipe.
Just secure the pressure line around the pipe with a tie strap and as is well, should you need to get the pipe repaired Weston is very good about this and if the pipe has not received JB weld they will fix it for you for free just pay the shipping cost hope this covers it.

I appreciate your support Dennis, you have a great product.I am very happy with the weston line.I have talked to you before about my bryon weston pipe...I decided after talking to you just to bring mine to a buddy who owns a welding shop here,as aposed to sending it away to the UK.I didnt jb weld it before he brazed it.I jb welded it afterwards and its held up ever since. But on the 2 new weston pipes I will have them brazed before even mounting them ..its just all personal pref.Guys ,Dennis does stand behind his products very good,I just chose to give mine to my buddy to weld just for extra insurance and for quicker repair

Hi Steve
Sure i understand you wanting the pipe to stay together that's why i take the time to advise my customers what and how to install the pipe.
I have an old Byron fan F-86 that i fly and i installed one of the weston pipes on it, this plane was the test unit for the pipes and it is still going strong no problems as long as you keep the pressure line tight and don't let it whip in the exhaust stream.

Thanks for info.

Thanks for all of the information on the Weston pipes. I have one on order and if it works as good as it sounds, I'll probably get two more.
